Photographer’s Note
I've already published here two trial-views from the courtyards of Cesky Krumlov Castle.
In this way I wanted to write some historical background for this charming town.
So, we got to know the legend about "Division of the Rose" and some historical truth about foundation of the settlement.
Today it's high time to present fair part of the Castle.
Its complex is the largest and most important in the Czech Republic after the Prague Castle. It consists of forty buildings and constructions spread along one kilometer of the rocky hill. The castle gardens occupy eleven hectares. In addition to the main residence, the complex includes many administrative, economic, artisan and technical spaces: courtyards, grounds and both decorative and utility gardens.
Under the reign of the Rozmberks (1302-1602), Castle was turned into the rich "chateau" seat of the coming Reneiassance style. For that time, William of Rozmberk showed unusual business capabilities. He started new production areas: mining, shepherding, opening fish ponds, hop farming, malt housing. The estate was developing in all areas.
Importance of Cesky Krumlov never achieved the same level as it had under the Rozmberks.

This picture really jumps out at me! The red roofs of the buildings stand out against the blue sky, and makes a powerful combination. Great note also. Well done!

Hello Mat,
I like your series on the Bohemian Rose. This is my favorite with the bridge in the foreground and the castle in the background. The colors are beautiful and there's a nice contrast between the beige-pinkish buildings and the blue sky.

Wow ! What a marvelous chateau, Mat !
I'm very fond of this kind of construction only find in Europe. This is a superb one. The architecture is outstanding and the surrounding area full of trees makes a nice frame.
Very well captured with this beautiful blue sky.
Best wishes,
Celso
