The Historic and Magical Zinkovy castle is individually owned. The Palace boasts 60 Luxurious bedrooms with numerous solid oak libraries, function rooms and servant quarters. It also has its own chapel that has been used in the past by the rich and famous for weddings. Reconstructed in 1679, 1897 and again in 1916 to its present gothic style by the famous Viennese architects H. Helmer and F. Fellner when it was purchased by the Baron Skoda of the Skoda car factories to be used as his private residence. The Czech government then acquired the property and changed in into a holiday complex to be used by members of the Czech Communist Party.
The Palace is ideally situated beside a 62 hectare lake making this one of, if not the most beautiful Palace in the World and the 2nd largest in West Bohemia. A palace dating back to 1176 when it was originally a castle surrounded by its own moat.
The Palace is situated in the village of Zinkovy, which is approximately 60 miles from Prague, the Capital of Czech Republic. It is easily accessible by the main motorway. In the opposite direction the German border is approximately 40 miles, giving easy access to Europe. The many facilities within easy reach include Shooting, Horse riding, Fishing, Tennis, Golf and Skiing. Two of the main tourist locations within the Czech Republic - Marianske Lazne and Karlovy Vary, are driving distance of approximately 45 miles.
The Palace stands on a total area of land covering 140,000 m2. It is situated beside a 62 Hectare lake with private harbor, and can be accessed by its own private bridge or private road.
The Palace is of a rectangular layout consisting of 3 wings on 3 floors with various cellars. It boasts in the region of 90 rooms, many of which still have original features such as Parquetry Flooring, Hand Painted Ceilings and Leaded Windows most of which are in very good condition . There are three main ornate staircases all of which are in excellent condition. The Palace has its own heating system.
The Chapel is situated in the East Wing of the Palace with its own private entrance. It consists of many beautiful original stained glass windows, ornate masonry and wooden features.
There is a large courtyard area situated in the middle of the Palace which can be used for a variety of functions.

As Usual - the oustanding balance! The optimim shimmer of the reflection of the castle on the water .. The Water body here is perhaps more evocative than the land mass consisting of the castle and the vegetation. Thanks for a picture that is soothing to the eye.

J'aime beaucoup la construction de cette image qui laisse toute la place nécessaire aux reflets du château dans les eaux calmes.

This is a very beautiful picture with outstanding clarity. I enjoy the inclusion of some reeds and branches in two of the corners as a way of framing this lovely scene. A very well thought out and balanced image.
Kind Regards, Ann
