Photographer’s Note
From today´s trip. The first written records attesting to the existence of Frıdlant Castle date from 1278. During the Thirty Years' War, Frıdlant was the property of Albrecht of Waldstein/ Wallenstein (who named his vast duchy after it). When Waldstein died, the Gallas family acquired Frıdlant. It later passed on to the Clam-Gallas family, in whose hands it was to remain until 1945.
