...another photo here on TE of this beautiful town...and a very typical one, I admit, but I couldn´t resist...

This town in the South of the Ceskomoravska Vrchovina (Bohemian-Moravian Highlands) has a distinctive triangular plaza bordered by residents‘ houses with Renaissance gables and arcades. In the halls of the stately home with their preserved wooden coffered ceilings visitors can peruse the valuable contents and significant collections. Farni kostel sv. Jakuba (the parish church of St. Jacob) and Kostel sv. Ducha (The Church of the Holy Spirit), with its Romanesque tower are also beautiful. The town also boasts Muzeum Vysočiny (Highland Museum).

According to legend, the town’s origins date back to 1099, when the Moravian margrave Ota II founded kaple P.Marie (the Chapel of the Virgin Mary) in the Old Town. However, the Town did not really emerge until the turn of the 13th century. Zachariáš from Hradec played a major role in the town’s expansion between 1527 and 1589, when he had both the stately home and the town rebuilt in the Renaissance style. After the noble family from Hradec died out, the Slavats from Chlum and Košumberk took over the role of town owners. From the 17th century the Lichtenstein-Kastelkorns gained possession of Telc, because the last remaining Slavat (Jan Karel Jachym, an influential member of the Carmelite order) refused to assume the family inheritance. Telc was declared a town monument reservation in 1970. In 1192 Telc was added to the List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO. In 2001 Statni Zamek (the National Stately Home) was declared a National Cultural Monument and the Telc quarter Stare Mesto (Old Town) was declared a monument zone.

This town is really well worth a visit...

Aha! Telc! Been there in 2003 and want to go again. What a place. Beautiful photo as well, my only wish is that you would have lowered the camera to have a complete reflection. I have also a photo of this tower, may post it one day.

Cheers
Alexander

Hello Ivana,

Cette fois, l'intégralité de la scène est éclairée par une douce lumière.
J'aurais intégré le reflet de la tour l'eau mais c'est un détail.
Bien vu.

A+

Hello Ivana,
And what I have to say, I can only be glad with the splendid view which you show on this photo. very nicely you frame photoes. It is the not easy art and I will admit that I have with this no mean problems. You do this so lightly, and resultant pictures are not as usual nice in the reception. Very nice colours, well replete, the excellent sharpness and the depth of the sharpness and the magnificently delicate light.
Best regards from Poznan,
Jurek

A well composed picture for a lovely view.. nice reflections and rich colors, well done Ivana, compliments!!

ciao,
Fabio.

Hi Ivana. A beautiful shot, extremely well composed. The town looks a wonderful place basking in the August sun. You placed the church in just the right part of the composition. Lovely colours and not too much contrast or sharpening. A very appealing image. Well done.
Regards,
Andrew
