Photographer’s Note

Horní náměstí, surely the most eye-catching place in Olomouc and in my opinion also one of the most beautiful squares in the Czech Republic. It's directly connected to the smaller but also good looking Dolní náměstí. In foreground of the picture there is very well known Sloup Nejsvětější trojice (Holy Trinity Column), build roughly in the first half of 18th Century as a thanks God for the end of the plague (but maybe even more to show the wealth of the Catholic Church). The building in the background is the Olomouc City Hall with astronomical clock (there you can get a free map of Olomouc historic centre).

As Olomouc is quite sleepy city, if something happens there, it's usually at this square.
