The last of a short seies about Ostrava, and the Vitkovice industrial complex, now a UNESCO heritage site. This shot from the tower at the civic centre shows plant of Vitkovice creating Ostrava distinctive skyline in the distance.

Hi Richard,
not yet, I think that it is only on the tentative list and in my opinion, there are places that should not be accepted because of moral reasons. I am not discussing the technical value of the complex, it is great, of course, but too many people payed a high cost having big health problems caused by enormous pollution produced by it.The average length of life of people working there was much shorter than of other population.
Anyway, the place is interesting and your shot has something of sad atmosphere that suits well to the place. As for me it is a rather terrific memorial of communism.

I never thought a rusting industrial site would be declared a UNESCO heritage sight, it does make a striking contrast to the prettier bell towers in front of it, as noted above it is interesting from a cultural perspective as a monument to communist era projects.

Belle photo de cette vue de très haut sous un très bon POV, de cette ville et surtout de ces toits et ces rues.Bien sur pour suivre votre belle série sur les usines, dans le fond on distingue une usine , peut etre celle de votre précédente prise.

Hello Richard,
Although it has taken very points, I think that this mosaic of colorful houses deserves far more.
I really enjoy it and besides it has also a documentary value.
