Photographer's Note

On our recent trip to the Czech Republic we were able to spend the afternoon in Telc. The town actually became an UNESCO site in 1992. It's a very charming town, as you can see from this photo.

the architecture in this town looks to be so photogenic, and you have captured the charm of the place very well. lovely detail. superb light management. the blue sky and white clouds complete the scene.

Hello Tosca,
Great capture of this picturesque square, with its row of unique buildings, each a different colour and each with a different gable, standing out so perfectly against the blue and white of the sky. The tourists add a pleasing feeling of animation.
An attractive picture from a very beautiful town !

i can understand this is on the list of UNESCO when i see the wonderful architecture, it looks almost like taken from an fairytale. Good overview of the buildings, sharp and clear also. Did you use a pol.filter here? Well done!

Hello Tosca,

What a display of facades, roofs and colors. The spacious square has to be one of the larges in Eastern Europe. Initially, the scene reminded me of a square in old Gdansk, but this is much wider, and there is more variation in the architectural design.

What a wonderful facades! I love their soft colours alternated with white.
The cobblestones on the foreground add to the charm of this square and the blue sky with the thick white clouds make a splendid backdrop.

On any normal day, the houses would be the real attraction in this photo, but I've got to say that the sky beats them out here. Gorgeous blue, with clouds that all look like they're hiding on top of the roofs of the buildings. The buildings themselves are great, and you have a wonderful POV, catching so many bright facades in a row. The people strolling about add a lot of life to the shot.

I wonder if it might be just a bit underexposed? There's clearly a lot of sun in the shot but it doesn't quite feel sunny. I hope you don't mind my massing around with it in the workshop.

Back from my weekend hike ...
Wow, superb composition. Those houses almost look like toy houses, they are so cute. Adding the amazing sky this is a very pleasing photo.
The more I see of eastern Europe here, the more I realize that I have to fill this blank slate in my travel map one day.

You enjoyed Telc alot more than i did, but perhaps we didn't spend enough time there.
the more i look at your shot the more i like it, and its mostly because of the large cloud coverage.

Indeed a colorful city square captured when the sun is at an angle. A pleasing image in marvelous light quality, shadows and tones with superb sky area. Love to view the cheerful buildings in diff colors, shapes and architectures. Excellent composition with attractive fg subjects and I like the strong contrasting colours too, the cloudscape adds the overall beauty. This a fine image of high quality. Great stuff :))

A classic view of Telc, but a better photo than most others. I love the way you have made use of the diagonal lines and that all people seen in photo are inside the frame is great. The sky is fantastic and the colours look natural. A really great photo-job. TFS and have a nice day!
