Photographer’s Note
The area of Elbe sandstone rocks is located at the north part of the Czech Republic. In 2000 this area was proclaimed The Bohemia Switzerland National Park. The park on its northern side is connected to the Saxon Switzerland National Park in Germany and whole area is known under the name of Czech-Saxon Switzerland. One of the most pitoresque places of is called The Tisa Walls, thanks to the nearby village Tisa. Massive rock wall is towering above the village, rising up to 70 meters. Behind the wall you can find a picturesque sandstone labyrinth with spectacular rock formations, narrow passes, view towers and pillars with honeycombs. Walking the forest trails, discovering the old rocky castles, mythical empires of the dwarves, fairies and robbers who used to live in this area and maybe they still do. You might feel like you’re in a fairy-tale. That may be the reason why fairy-tales, for example “A Proud Princess” was filmed here.
Wonderfull view of Czech inland You can see from the edge of the wall; the mountain on the horizon left are Czech Central Mountains – (czech name is "Ceske stredohori"), picturesque mountains of the volcanic origin - many hills are typically volcano shaped.
