Konopiste castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

The predecessor of the todays castle, the tower Konopiště, was founded in the end of the 13th century, when the construction was supported by the Prague bishop Tobiáš from Bechyně. Until 1327 it was owned by the family of Šternberkové who have also imprisoned the king Václav IV. in the castle. During the Hussite war the castle stood against the city of Tábor. Since 1950 the castle Konopiště had many owners and it was also desolated by the Swedish army during the Thirty-years war. In the 18th century the castle was modified a lot and so the tower changed into a comfortable castle. Also F.M.Kaňka and the sculptor M.B.Braun took part of the reconstruction. In 1887 the castle was bought by the future crown prince František Ferdinand d´Este. There are many museum collection in the castle rooms and František Ferdinand had also collected many art collections and hunting trophys. Since 1918 the castle is a property of the state. Also the "pink garden" was build up in area of the Baroque garden
The extensive park around the Konopiště castle (225 hectare) is the favorite destination of Czech as well as foreign tourists.

This is a fantastic view of this castle. Your composition and POV are great showing the castle from a nice angle giving the shot nice depth and detail. You framed the castle nicely with the deep green trees creating nice contrast to the bight white and red of the castle. The lighting and colors are great with fine sharpness and DOF.

what is your secret? It seems that you have a little privat airplane and you flying all over Europe to get this most interesting aerial shots of the most attractive castles. Regardsless if it is in Germany , Czech Republic, Switzerland ... not a problem you got it all. Wonderful POV on this one!

This aerial photo is a worthy addition to your gallery in general, and to your castles series in particular. The thick, dark green woods makes a compelling backdrop to the building, setting it off dramatially. The note is superb and highly informative. From what height did you shoot this photograph?

ahoj,
moc hezka fotka. Je dobre, ze jsi hrad zachytil cely ve sve krase. Na nadvori nejsou zadni nevstevnici, kteri by rusili celkovy dojem z fotky-tak Konopiste vypada, ze je ukryto v lesich a pusobi tak majestatneji.

Where did you take this picture from? From a plane? The high POV certainly creates a beauty here..surrounded by greens the white castle stands like an island. Beautiful architecture in view here. You have a wonderful collection of castle pictures & this is one of them.
