Photographer’s Note

The Berounka river - tranquil czech river that flows through a forested valley engulfed in steep rocky bluffs and green meadows. The river is a favourite destination among canoeists, suitable for absolute beginners, and several rapids will bring some excitement to the journey. During canoing You can enjoy the picturesque sceneries around, with many castles, which erect over the river valley. Most known and most impressive is Karlstejn Castle.
Whole region is quite often affected by winter and summer floods. Summer floods are typically rain floods as in August 2002, which was disaster also for capital Prague. Snow, ice, rain and mixed floods occure as winter floods. My picture shows the river in Srbsko village (close to Karlstejn Castle) during present cold winter
