Another cross today. This one stands at a solitary lime tree on a low hillock in the middle of fields near small village Tehov. I used to photograph this tree quite often, because it is located about 20 minutes walk from my home and it is visible at a distance from many angles. However, because there is no way through the fields, I can come close only in winter, when the field is covered with snow.
Compare this cross with the one in Podveky I posted yesterday. Even though they stand about 30 Km from each other, their style and feel are very similar, aren't they?
I've decided to convert this picture in B&W to stress its winter mood. If you like colours, have a look at a closer view in the workshop. Which one do you prefer?

I think I prefer this one compared yersterday one.
Good composition with the snow and tree. Black and white is a good choice.

What a great lanscape. Perfect in it's simplicity! I think you haven't to convert it to B&W because it's somewhat B&W itself :)
Great framing: everywhere snow and a lonely tree into the lanscape! Great job!

Good compositional simplicity, Marek. The single tree makes a good anchor for the composition and the b&w presentation strips it further down to the essentials. I think for the cross to be the subject of your title, it overlaps a bit too much with the tree, but I understand you shot it like this because you were able to include the tracks in the snow which are an essential detail. The WS is nice but again I would recommend to step a bit to the right and reduce the overlap between tree and cross.

trčs simple mais aussi joli que simple.
Un cadrage trčs pro avec une ligne d'horizon bien située.
le b&w est un choix interssant pour ce genre d'ambiance hivernale.

to be honoust, I prefer the color version, but that's my personal taste of course. The colored version gives us also a closer and sharper view on the subject.

Bardzo wymowne zdjęcie. Przydrożny krzyż i drzewo. Często spotykam takie scenki. W tonacji czarno-białej ładnie się prezentuje fotografia.

The choice for B&W works very well here to give a ery good contrast to the photo. You placed the tree very well in the shot, good work!

Bonsoir mon ami Marek,
C'est une photo pour laquelle il semble difficile de rester insensible, il y a de la poésie dans cette prise de vue.
Le noir et blanc convient parfaitement pour cette composition.
Les mots sont inutiles, cette image parle d'elle-męme.

This is ofcourse an excellent composition. The shades, growing from white to dark, is great. an excellent pov.

Serwus Marek !
I like this clear winter's vista. Now it is good season for searching such empty spaces. A bit sad image, but in fine composition. Good Work.

Beautifull picture . I like this lonely tree in a field of snow. It's a desert landscape but the ski on the snow give a human touch.

Great ambience here - the harsh winter landscape, the threatening sky, the tracks in the snow, and the cross beneath the lone tree all come together to make a great scene. I also like the low line of trees in the distance which creates another layer of interest and breaks up the frame nicely. A very worthy shot, Marek. Congratulations. I love these scenes.
