ASTRONOMIC CLOCK, a photo from Prague, Bohemia

Photographer's Note

The Prague Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj (Czech language )is mounted on the southern wall of Old Town City Hall in the Old Town Square and is a popular tourist attraction.
The clock is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.
The oldest part of the Orloj, the mechanical clock and astronomical dial, dates back to 1410 when it was made by clockmaker Mikulas of Kadan and Jan Sindel, the latter a professor of mathematics and astronomy at Charles University.

The picture impressed me most with its marvellous colours. Sharp details also help to create "magic" atmosphere of medieval city. Perfect!

Salut Iulian,

este foarte reusita poza ta. Compozitia si culorile cladirilor ofera un efect dramatic pozei. Daca nu ar fi fost cele doua persoane am fi putut spune ca e o imagine ireala ce aduce mult cu un grafism. Cred ca motivul in tabla de sah din prim plan mareste aceasta senzatie de fantastic. Imi place cum acest motiv se continua pe turn prin petele de poluare (doar din punctul de vedere al compozitei pozei).

Foarte interesant, Iulian: minunat efectul (distorsiunea) superangularului, grozava tenta asta verzuie, imi place tare-tare mult. Bravo! super prelucrarea!

A really good image Iulian, I really like the perspective and depth of the shot.
The colour of the lighting adds a real eeriness.

*Not sure the blurred people really add anything
