Photographer's Note
I am using the opportunity that Paul now appears on TE and dedicate to him this photo from the Golden Lane in Prague Castle. These tiny houses, like for the dwarfs, are the big attraction for the tourists. It is possible to enter some of them.
From Internet:
Golden Lane got its name from the story of alchemists living in the street during the reign of Rudolf II who tried to make not only the philosopher stone or the elixir of youth, but also to transform metals into gold. The houses are so small that they fit more to dwarfs than to people.
The street was created during the construction of northern fortification at the end of the 15th century. In 1597 the emperor Rudolf II decided to give the space there to the castle marksmen who guarded the fortification. But there were 24 marksmen and a lack of space. Therefore, the marksmen had to build very small houses for them and their families. The material they used was stone, mud, and wood. The emperor prohibited to build windows in the direction to the Deer Moat or to sell or rent the house to somebody else.
During the decades several houses were destroyed, after 1657 there were only 14 houses left. Castle marksmen were not needed so much any more, that’s why more and more people of other occupations came to live there. One of the famous inhabitants of this street was famous writer Franz Kafka in house no. 22 or Prague prophetess Madame de Thebes, who was killed by the Gestapo in the war because she foretold the end of Nazism.
In WS another POV.

Hello Malgo,
Thank you very much for dedicating this picture of that extremely colourful house to me. Very funny with VDV on the door :)
I was in that street in 2004. I'm not sure I remember this house but I've been inside the one of Franz Kafka.
When I was there the street was really crowded and everywhere I had to look over the heads of other visitors. So now in February you were able to take a picture with no one on.
The vivid colours of the facade, the door, the windows and the fence together with the beaufiful tiles and the roof window with the small turret make it look like a house from a fairy tale. Additional some flower pots decorate the small stairs next to the roof.
The whole looks very nice and cozy.
And I feel more happy that VDV is stated on this door than if were on the gate of Buckingham Palace :))
Thanks!
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Malgorzata,
Bravissima.
Ciao e buon fine settimana
Romano

Ces petites maisons très colorées de Prague sont très curieuses (même si la photo ne rend pas trop leur petitesse) et très photogéniques.

Hi Malgorzata
Another fascinating place :) I really like the colours of this, and the white steps with the plants at the end of the building looks lovely. Like a dolls house come to life, and painted so as to be a great attraction.
All the best

Hello Malgorzata,
This is a pretty sight, no doubt, but it does look a bit artificial, not really a natural part of a big city. I cannot help having the word "kitsch" entering my mind :-). As far as the photo goes it's fine.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo.
This charming little house, I remember visiting the castle had so many people practically pass by. A very powerful image with this beautiful chromaticism.
Superb sharpness and good light.
Well done. I love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
A hug.

Dear Malgorzata,
This is very nice as well, but I feel myself lucky that I could make a capture of this beautiful street when there was not signs of mass tourism and disturbing elements.
This entry of yours is still very nice and your interesting notes makes it a perfect TE entry.
I'm now planning to make a 3 days trip to Prague either in May or early June but am afraid that the city will be to much crowded. Anhow, wait and see.
TFS and have a nice weekend

Hi Malgo
I saw this one on FB, i liked it there too :)
We were here, but we didn't actually go down the Golden lane - it was SOOOOOOO full of people! any photo would have been impossible, people were walking elbow to elbow, so we chose not to do it....it also cost money too.
but i'm glad to see that you took a photo for us :)
was it not so busy? what time of day did you go?
love the subject! thanks for this one
cheers

Bajkowy domek, jak chatka z piernika, maleństwo jest bardzo malownicze, stareńki, ale dobrze, że utrzymali taki charkter, pieknie wypatrzyłaś i zaprezentowałaś
pozdrawiam
