Photographer's Note

After rather macabre my last photo, something more pleasant.
Before my trip to Prague I looked at some photos of the places lass shown here on TE but attractive and marked them on the map. So just the first evening I went to see this staircase in Black Madonna House.
The House of the Black Madonna is a cubist building in the "Old Town" area. It used to be there a small museum of Cubism.
The House of the Black Mother (U Černé Matky Boží), sometimes referred to as Black Mother of the Lord, was designed and built between 1911 and 1912 on the corner of Celetná Street and Ovocný trh. Josef Gočár built this house as the first example of cubist architecture in Prague and it remains probably the most celebrated. Even without historical details of the baroque building surrounding it, the House at the Black Madonna maintains the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The house was given its name by the stone sculpture that originally adorned one of the two Baroque buildings on the same lot.
But how I was disappointed - the museum was removed somewhere and the staircase closed :(. I could make my photo only from below, so the steps are not visible actually.

Hello Malgorzata,

A picture with a lots of depth/highness and
this with the warm colors gives the picture
a nice atmosphere. The little noise in the
picture emphasize that extra.

I love the implied lines of perspective in this photo. Your choice of subject is exquisite. I've never seen a spiral stairway like this one. The exposure and depth of field are excellent for an indoor shot. Very well done. Thanks for sharing it.

questa di oggi è veramente bella sia per la composizione che lascia modo di esprimere appieno la successione di linee curve sia per i colori alquanto delicati nei toni del bruno.
Anche il contrasto è stato ben dosato e la luminosità non risente delle condizione nelle quali l'hai scattata.
Insomma un ottimo lavoro che ritengo verrà apprezzato.
Molto utili le nopte a corredo della foto.

Quel splendide escalier. La construction de l'image très symétrique est parfaite ainsi que la gestion de la lumière. J'aime beaucoup la couleur choisie pour le cadre.

Sensational and very original composition, with the opening of this staircase that looks like a work of modern art, if I focus my attention to the center of it, reminds me of a lightbulb, beautiful cream color contrast between walls and ceiling and brown the railing.
A magnificent presentation for this beautiful work.

Great shot and nice perspective.
Hope your neck is ok.

It`s a bit grainy because of the high iso,this is ok but it has only 176 KB!.
I think with the maximum allowed 300 it would have better quality!

I was in Prague in 1981 with my school class.
Some friends and me took the metro to the final station and walked back to town,having a look into many art deco houses with staircaises like this one and I loved the architecture.( it was the day of the Ronald Reagan assassination attempt)

Hi Malgo,
A very original version of that common "spiral staircase". This on has the form of a lightbulb. As there is a lamp below, the association is quite evident.

I like the visual effect created by the water-drop shape of this elegant staircase, which you have caught by means of an efficient low angle shot.
The impressive geometry of this staircase provides a great power to the composition.

Hello Malgorzata,

Staircases generally make for an interesting subject because of the perspective. This one has been creatively arranged, I like that it resembles a light bulb. The golden tones add a touch of mystique about the scene and the patterns from the rails are amazing. I actually like the "noise" in this image, it feels to give some added mood and hint of texture. Well executed and presented.

Intersting shape this stair and your composition choice create an intersting effect. I think i would choose to reduce the noise on the PP work.
