Carneval boys in Prague, a photo from Prague, Bohemia

Photographer's Note

I can imagine the fun and excitement, and of course the crowds in carnival towns like Venice, Cologne or Rio de Janeiro. I would like to be there:).I saw Rosenmontagzug in Cologne twice. I was fascinated the first time, the second time I found it a bit crazy.
Warsaw has no tradition of special carnival celebrations. In Prague they prepared for some events.
I saw this colourful group of men suddenly near Tyn church, I grabbed my camera, but it is so slow sometimes :(. So this is just quick shot, no co mposition. When my granddaughter Ada saw this photo she told me who is who. One of them is Spiderman, others I forgot.

Thinking about carnival in Prague I murmured of course
this.

Liga Niezwykłych Dżentelmenów w akcji:)
swietne ujecie,kolorowe,wyraziste i zabawne.Nie wiedzialem,ze i w Czechach tak swietuja karnawal.Jak zapewne wiesz w Kolonii w tym czasie w zasadzie nic nie zalatwisz,wszyscy na ulicach sie bawia(a ja w zwiazku z tym moge sie dzisiaj cieszyc wolnym dniem).

Hello Malgo.
You can sometimes make up for lack of time to compose by careful cropping and sharp rendition of important details. If the subject has such colour and life, it doesn't matter too much about the dispersal of the people in the shot or their poses. Here, the very bright comic-strip outfits against the greyish old bricks of Prague make for a very striking image. Maybe the frame goes a bit far for my liking, but I guess it's in keeping with the theme. I wonder if you were panning for this one. Anyway, it's a lively shot which reminds me of just how much colour one sees in Prague these days - so different from 30 years ago.

Je ne sais pas si tu es familière avec une émission américaine intitulée " Big bang Theorie" , mais les héros qui sont des nerds sont souvent habillés de cette façon.Il ne faut pas être gêné.

Hello Malgo,

What a shock you must have had seeing all these super heroes rushing down the street. This is the sort of parade that university students sometimes engage in for 'Rag Days' or when it it someone's birthday. I have seen similar in Liverpool, sadly when I had no camera to hand!
The colours, the details, the comic humour are all so very engaging. The figures show up beautifully against the sombre coloured b/g. You may have cropped but, for me, the composition is fine. Not too keen on the border but that's just a question of choice.

I guess super heros are just about everywhere! There are a few of them, all kinds, in downtown Las Vegas. Good capture with good lighting and dof with sharp details. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.
