Well, it happened again!
When I was visiting New York City last year, as i was walking around on the city streets I bumped right into a real life professional model shoot on the sidewalk.
Here in Prague it happened all over again!
We were taking a quiet stroll through Prague Castle, which has enormous grounds, and we walked straight into another real life pro model shoot.
This one was much larger than the shoot in New York.
The lady here had handlers primping up her hair and makeup every minute or two. There were "grips" on hand holding reflectors to enhance the outdoor lighting, it was an entire scene!
Funny thing is...the handlers didn't like me at all. I was actually getting real close to the model myself, perhaps closer than 10 feet from her.
At one point, one of the 'grips' blocked my view of the model with his large reflector - and believe me, he did it on purpose!
The way I look at it, if you're out there shooting this model in public, expect some casual people to be taking photo's too! And thats exactly what i did!
I added a couple more in the WS too, hope you enjoy.

You could be a model photographer as well! You did a great work here my friend. The model helped you a lot as well, she is really pretty.
CLODO (24894) 2012-10-22 0:47
Brilliant! Your note summarizes well the situation, and how you managed to get this superb (fake) portrait.
Now, you have to take persons pictures in the streets, without any inconvenience around!
bayno (16395) 2012-10-22 0:57
you captured a wonderful expression of this wonderful creature, very pleasant, also the WS, you went a little out of your royalties that focus on architecture and landscapes but I appreciate it a lot, excellent quality and beautiful colors...sorry fon my not excellent english...

Hello Craig - A super shot provided by a serendipitous occasion. I read the comment posted by Keith with interest and as long as one respects and works around the people doing their professional work, I don't see a problem. The only thing I would be concerned about is publishing such a shot, for that you would need a model release form (I assume she is a professional model). Have a great week Rosemary

Hi Craig !!
You were lucky again!! ;)
For sure you know to choose "subjects" for the capture!!
A profesional realization yours, and not only by the model...perfect focus and colours and a very nice expression, even both WS are very good...well this is another kind of "architecture"... ;)
mjw364 (4032) 2012-10-22 2:54
Curvaceous Craig strikes again!
You just got to be audacious to get the shot sometimes Craig and you certainly did here.

She bares a passing resemblance to an English actress, this model, Joanna Lumley. You made very good use of your unexpected opportunity. An excellent portrait.
mirosu (5553) 2012-10-22 5:18
Excellent snapshot of this smiling lady. Perfect low angle viewpoint and light. I like the vibrant colors, terrific lights, razor sharpness with superb details. Very well done.
Sergiom (40107) 2012-10-22 5:28
The badluck is following you like the misery on poor people. She was very cute and you took advantage of the poor girl. This pisture is as goog as a professionnal one. So...did you ask her out?
dkmurphys (37377) 2012-10-22 7:25
Well, you're a lucky one! Soon I guess you'l meet the Playboy models on a beach:P Nice capture, enjoy a fine week.
Zucca (4222) 2012-10-22 8:56
Your story is interesting, I can understand how it was difficult to shoot your photos... and I understand handlers' reaction too, even if it was quite excessive ! Nevertheless, the model's expression is well caught, I guess a professional wouldn't get a more convincing result...
Have a nice day !
saxo042 (31856) 2012-10-22 9:42
A very attractive picture and an attractive girl too! I have encountered this situation too, here in Gothenburg. Of course you take the opportunity to your own pictures, like here. There were no protests...
tyro (13557) 2012-10-22 10:58
Sorry I've not been critiquing for the past couple of days but I had a spot of bother with my internet connection - hopefully I've managed to resolve that now!
So, actually, I have been looking at your pictures and messages but not really able to critique or message back - but I think I've got it cracked now!
This is a fabulous trio of pictures - quite unlike the sort of sober and serious architectural shots you really love - but it would appear that you can turn your hand to photographing absolutely anything and in any situation at all!
What a nerve/cheek/brass neck you must have -I'd be terrified to "muscle in" in a situation like this - but good on ye! It's certainly given you some fantastic pictures.
These really are wonderful "fashion shoot" photographs, each quite different from the others but each excellent in its own right. Lovely lighting (presumably aided by the reflectors held by the "grips"), lovely colours against the plain white background, perfect exposure (no doubt all in JPEG!) and stunning details and clarity.

Ooh naughty boy! I just read Keith's comment and I've got to say that with all due respect to him, I don't think you were stopping these people from going about their business. Good on you for getting the photos, I'd never have had the nerve to do it. Are we gonna have to get a restraining order against you for all these models you seem to "run"into? :) She's a real hottie, although could probably do with a good plate of pasta or a gelato every now and again ;) Lovely outfit too, I wonder how many thousands of dollars it cost. ANyway, a good capture, certainly something out of your comfort zone and 10/10 for having the wontons to take it.

Hi Craig, You are good people photographer :). Excellent shot of this model. I think that Tosca also made some shots of her. Fantstic expression. I like it very much
krzychu30 (9369) 2012-10-23 1:34
thanks for the reminder why I love so much Czech Republic:)She´s really beautiful and her joyful and crazy facial expression is great. We do not see often such pictures taken by you,but once you do a portrait it´s really first-class.Like this one.And what can I say more?-I hope it´s not the last model you bumped into during your last trip to Europe:)
Have a nice day
Royaldevon (18315) 2012-10-23 7:48
I'm so glad that you added the w/s, I was so interested in what she was wearing around her waist!
All I can say about the Polish photographers is that they missed a valuable opportunity to see your slant on the photographs. Who knows ... this very relaxed shot could have been a whole lot better than theirs!! Obviously they had not been aware of your TE reputation!
I love it. It is not easy to get a model to pose for you so wonderfully without being paid! This really does have the panache of such an occasion; it is well composed, well focussed and there is an unmistakable ' presence'!
Have a lovely day,
I wonder if you will get commissions now!!

Bonsoir, cher Craig,
brianmcc (5536) 2012-10-23 12:48
you lucky so and so. well done for getting in on the act and getting this picture. you're just right, as you say its in a public place ans you're as much right to be taking pictures of beautiful girls (and she is) as anyone else.
ACL1978 (6091) 2012-10-23 16:00
Boy, you definitely weren't shy getting into this shot, Craig! Not that I blame you, of course. This really is model quality - that's an expression and pose that could easily wind up published somewhere. Nice shot, and good use of an opportunity.
Nard (6915) 2012-10-24 1:02
Your were lucky. Professionnal model and light for... a professionnal result. Nice shot, very dynamic and well managed.

Hi Craig. Truly an impressive photo. This shot is a stroke of luck. Perfectly realized. My compliments. Rgds, Wolfgang.
ciakgiak (30337) 2012-10-24 8:28
ikeharel (38022) 2012-10-24 10:37
Twice lucky, Craig.
I admit this is an astonishing portrait, and chances are that on a routine day - most photographers would not encounter such a moment.
Beautiful young lady, screaming is a bit artificial - but who cares? the sight is overwhelming.
jlbrthnn (79787) 2012-10-24 13:55
What portrait! and what picture! The image is beautiful and dramatic. The quality is perfect. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Hi dear Craig

Who longer I watch the picture, the more I
understand it...... She laughs, because
she was happy to she you.
Her pose is rough and sympathetic at the
same time. The make-up is also great and
the picture has a great light management
livermore (1462) 2012-10-26 8:21
eldancer1 (17306) 2012-10-26 9:51
She is pretty, did you get her phone number? Love the expression on her face. Professional models are easy to photograph because you don't have to tell them what to do. Good pov and dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.

nice and brilliant the view of the young woman with her other poses in the WS to complete perfect the whole scenery.I like her pose as the excellent light and colour management of the image.
Have a good weekend,Danos

great! I really like your photo session. Well done! Amazing story and attractive eye-catching photo.
Once I have been in the Chinese hotel on the Hainan Island. There was a final of the Miss World'2007. The models were everywhere around us... Just fantastic emotions! (I have got a few photos in my Chinese folder)
mauro61 (52527) 2012-10-27 14:25
Hansaphotos (5581) 2012-10-28 10:28
A wonderful portrait of this good looking model. I guess the old Roxette song "She`s got the look" also could have been an alternative title here. I took a look at the workshops, and I prefere this one. Very well taken just in the right moment. Great work:) TFS. Have a nice evening.
Best regards, Erling
zoomer (3624) 2012-10-28 10:41
Hi,this is a wonderfully spontaneous shot and I wonder if any of the professionals got a good one like that.Color and light are just perfect and you hit the right moment of expression. All the best,Wolf.

Fantastic portrait of this young woman - you have captured her beautifully.
Excellent faultless photography.
josepmarin (55185) 2012-10-29 12:44
Hi, my friend Craig,
yes, you are lucky on to have found this photographic professional session, with the model in full action.
As you say in your note this it happened to you in NY and now also in Prague.
I believe that you seized perfectly this opportunity for to take a dynamic and vital photo, "stealing" this close-up of the model.
It is a less habitual shot in your work, but you have executed it impeccably.
mkamionka (24796) 2012-11-01 3:05
it just somehow happens to you quite often that you come across a model... Very well spotted and probably better shot than the other guys did, who actually paid the model. They sensed that you are better and they did not like you from the first sight :)
Thanks for sharing,
korbee (6305) 2012-11-01 15:37
Like I said before, you have hidden talents Craig!
Why dont you do this more,i mean your cityviews are nice, but this portrait is great and a big surprise!
Good stuff and her eyes are incredible ,endless blue.
