‘Prague Castle‘

Hereby my second picture taken on the Petřínská lookout tower rozhledna (Petřín rozhledna) on the hill Petřín in Prague.
This time a view on Prague Castle with the St.Vitus´s Cathedral.

Too bad that I have forgotten the name of the city quarter at the foreground of the photograph. I think this part of town also looks great on this picture (and in reality !).

The Prague Castle was most likely founded in around 880 by Prince Bořivoj of the Premyslid Dynasty (Přemyslovci). According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Prague Castle is the largest coherent castle complex in the world, with an area of almost 70,000 m².
A UNESCO World Heritage site, it consists of a large-scale composition of palaces and ecclesiastical buildings of various architectural styles, from Roman-style buildings from the 10th century through Gothic modifications in the 14th century.
The famous Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik was responsible for extensive renovations in the time of the First Republic (1918-1938). Since the Velvet Revolution, the Prague Castle has undergone significant and ongoing repairs and reconstructions.

Personally, I've never seen Prague from this POV on TE... so thanks for the inovation. I also like the great colour spcetrum you offer here. Great job

what a beautiful aerial view of Prague. You have chosen a good angle, placing the the cathedral right in the frame and filling the lower part with the interesting red roofs. Very good light and definition. Well done!

Amazingly attractive high view over the rooftops of that magnificent city!
Sharpness is excellent, exposure is perfect, colors are very natural and beautiful! Very good depth of field too!
Composition is simple but pretty effective!

Hello Paul. Your second posting from Prague is equally as interesting as the first. The height of the vantage point is very impressive and the red rooftops bring some very interesting patterns to enjoy.

Bonsoir Paul,
I think that you are referring to the quarter of Strahov (Praha I) where we can find the Strahov Monastery and Loreto Square (Loretánské Námèstí).
Brilliant composition of Prague's Castle and its surroundings from the advantageous POV of Petrin Tower. Fine job.

Hallo Paul,

Praag een van de vele steden die zich perfect lenen om een fantastische foto te maken als deze.
U heeft de foto bewust opgedeeld in twee delen, in de voorgrond de vele huizen en daken, maar verderop de schitterende historische gebouwen, wel deels opnieuw opgebouwd naar de tweede wereld oorlog.
Prachtig werk hier, bedankt.

Beautiful cityscape! Attractive red roofs have been impressively shot from the appropriate shooting point. The moderate sunlight makes a three-dimensional feeling on this image. sharpness is also excellent.
