Photographer’s Note

Great Synagogue of Plzeň is the biggest in Czech Republic, second biggest in Europe and third biggest in the world. The architectural plan was many times changed and the result is the mixture of styles ranging from Russin orthodox to Islamic ceiling an Indian looking ark. The synagogue served uninterupted during the Second World War. Communists closed the building in 1973. Restoration proceeded in 1995 - 1998. Today it's used for example as a music hall. And when it's Jewish, of course you have to pay if you want to enter :).
