Photographer’s Note

The Pilsen beer style was developed in the city of Plzen (pop. 164,000; Pilsen in English and German), on October 5, 1842.

It was the birth of a new era in the history of this beverage: the clear, golden beer caused a sensation and became the most popular style. Until the 1840s most beers were dark and cloudy.

Many beer companies produce today a Pilsen style, including Carlsberg, Heineken, Krombacher and Loewenbrau.

But those are actually imitations, for the original is produced in this brewery, Pilsner Urquell.

Great shot of this iconic symbol of Czech culture, probably the most famous brewery in the world.

Nice shot of this old brewery. The ocre building is architecturaly interesting and even if it’s an industrial site, the ensemble looks quite nice, so it was a good idea to get a shot of this site.

Did you get drunk just by smelling vapors? :-D)

An image with very good POV and a good frame. We can see in its totality this set of buildings that compose your photo.
I like the perspective which you have looked for with the chimneys, the wet ground and the yellow building in foreground, and the towers with a beautiful sky in background.
Perfect colors and good lighting, they make a composition excellent.
A very good beer here!

I like the sharp clean lines you have achieved on this and that freshly washed look you often get after the rain. My first thought was it reminded me of a Lowry painting but his chimneys were more distant.

Just three days ago I was in Budweiser brewery in Cescky Budejovice.. the other big brewery of the country: excellent beer in both cases.
Good composition and perspective here with nice reflections in the water in front.

Wonderful shot Daniel. Nice crisp lines especially the verticals. The rain drenched FG & the laden clouds make a beautiful surrounding. I like the colours too. Well done

Well you certainly have been busy since I last looked.This one is very attractive...the colours and sharpness caught my eye.Very well composed with good cut.Seems like you used quite a wide angle as the sides are a bit warped.Lots of lines and shapes to keep the eye busy.Good stuff.

Maybe i'm not a special beer-goggle, but i can easily discern a good beer. Pilsner Urquell is my no.2, my no.1 is definitely Velkopopvicky Kozel ;)

it looks almost like a coloured architectural drawing! Excellent composition and light management. I like the atmosphere, the mood of the photo which seems to have been taken after a rain (judging by the reflection on the wet surface).
