Different Colour of a Poppy Field Photo

Photographer’s Note

A lot of red poppies are photographed these days, in this picture I want to offer you a different colour as the fields of poppy blossom all around.

I think that not in all countries is common to crop poppy, but poppy is used as a traditional filling for Czech cakes and stuffed cakes, so traditional that even appear in the one of the most famous Czech fairy tales about Lazy Honza (John). Poppy cakes are for us something like pizza for Italians.

Hi Romana!
I`ve never seen a white poppy.Thanks for sharing this great shot.Fantastic low POV and a nice view at this big blossom against the sky.Strong light,which you managed well and good bright colors and contrast.A great shot!!!

You did well to choose a low viewpoint here to isolate the single flower against the sky while it is echoed by the other flowers and seed heads.

Such a cheerful image, full of life. Great low POV with lone poppy flower as you main focus against the beautiful blue sky. Very effective composition and great DoF. Simply lovely.

excellent shot, Romana, I like a lot how the low point of view isolates the poopy against the blue sky. the light is just right to show how delicate the petals of the flower are, and colours are crips and clean. very nice work, my compliments.

p.s. bagels and pastries with poppy seeds are very popular in Latvia too, you just have to remember to brushu your teeth after eating them :D

Hello Romana,

I used to have pink and purple poppies in my garden as well as the red, yellow and orange! They are beautiful but do not last long enough!

I love your low pov which gives good interest and detail to the front flowers. Good sense of perspective.

Je n'avais jamais vu de coquelicot blanc, c'est assez surprenant. Le POV choisi est vraiment superbe et sans éléments de référence, on se croirait dans une drôle de forêt!!
De très bonnes couleurs avec de bons contrastes.
