This picture has been taken in the old barn of rámek's farm in Piletice, which is a historical monument with valuable wooden buildings, the main building is a unique two-storey bordered residential house with remarkable porch dating back to 1802 (see workshop picture). The barn was built in 1814. Main entrance to the farm is through a stone-walled tri-axe gate built in 1805 - 1814.

I posted a photo about solitude yesterday, also slightly sepia, so your title caught my attention! There's something about empty chairs - they suggest a story. In this case, perhaps the chairs were carefully placed, but nonetheless there is a nostalgic element about his old setting. You composed it nicely and did a good job with the strong backlight coming through the timber slats.

Hello Romana, nice shot in sepia. Nostalgic view of the old barn. What is a story behind it? Excellent composition.
Happy Easter to you and your family

This is an eye-catching composition.
Perfect for all the rules of composition.
The empty chair is dominant and we begin to wonder if the single leaf is important. Are the b/g chairs waiting, like an audience, for the action!
When a photograph stirs up these sort of questions, it has had a strong effect on the viewer.
Have a lovely day,

you've played well with theavailable light to describe the matter of the inside of the old house, well translated by the sepai tones.

A nicely moody and atmospheric composition with lots of love for the details. The carefully arranged chairs, the feather on the chair in the foreground and the beautiful play of light and shadows on the old barn are very compelling and romantic.
have a great day and happy easter

beautifully conceived and captured shot this. Arty and compelling it encompasses the mood so perfectly. The leaf is just so powerfully placed and essential to the motive here. Love it!
Have a good week - B.

Great mood in this shot, the composition, with its chair alone in the foreground, the strong light and the sepia treatment well express solitude. Like it.

I like the sepia tone to this which creates an aged atmosphere in keeping with the building itself and the positioning of the chairs not only conveys depth but gives the sense that at least one person in the original group of three excluded themselves and sat with his/her back to them - perhaps as you say seeking solitude, or maybe excluded by the two others and marginalised from them socially. Who knows?!
Thanks and have a good evening.

an interesting composition. I like the strong diagonal lines created by the floor bricks. The empty chair begs our imagination to take over. However, the chair is at a slight tilt, this is only a little niggle but nonetheless it was the first thing that snagged my eye. Has nothing moved in this barn since autumn, or has the leaf been placed there for artistic effect? The latter I suspect.

I like old buildings, so it's hard not to notice this one. I like the composition a lot, the lonely chairs, the light passing... Very good in sépia!
