This is one of my favourite places in the town where I was born - Hradec Králové.
The colourful building is a hydro power station built on the so called "Humming Weir" and the bridge which you can see in the picture is called the same by local people.
The art nouveau building was designed by Frantiek Sandler, built in 1910. The whole complex of the power-station was pronounced a national technical monument, there is an exhibition on renewable resources inside.

i can see why this town is one of your favorites, especially if even a hydro power station is this elegant looking!

Although the water isn't the clearest, you get nice reflections in it. I also get the feeling that this is far from the city and a quite relaxing place. The building is very nice and special. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Romana, Excellent composition of this structure. It looks to good and grand to be a power station, but nevertheless it is a lovely building and the reflection in the water is outstanding. Overall the building could pass as a museum or some other outstanding configuration. The facade of the building is beautiful Great choice to post. Regards, Roger

You are quite right to be proud of this town. Wonderful art nouveau industrial building brought in sidelight that gives good detail of the facades, and well presented in a nice composition.

I love Art Nouveau architecture and this one is really outstanding. But actually I like the whole composition, very well balanced and accurate as often in your case and the river (or canal) with the wonderful reflections is surely one of the best features. The light is fine even thought a bit strong and harsh but you managed it quite well.
A nice and interesting presentation.

Nice photo. I thought I may be looking at a famous bath house, but not a power station. It is very pretty for such a place. I wish they would build them like this today. I can see why you like it so much.

Well ... yes, the Czech Art Nouveau. That said ... who had Mucha, so there is nothing surprising.
Very nice building, nice atmosphere. You live in a beautiful place. I do not know what's the big attraction in England :-)
This pleases me.
PS: I've got a London phone booth in black ... and then when I arrive there, then I suppose you :-)
You know, the dark horse in this talk with a bookmaker at the races :-)
