Photographer’s Note
A view of The Orthodox Russian Church of St. Peter and Paul in Karlovy Vary (a.k.a. Karlsbad).
Dating back to 1893-1987, it was modeled on the Byzantine-Old Russian Church in Ostankino near Moscow, and its construction was partially finances by spa guests - members of Russian aristocracy and the Tsar family. The architect was Gustav Wiedermann from Franzensbad.
PP: Lasso selected the decorations and tried to identify them more. Framing performed.
The cornerholder flowers are detail from a painting of the great Turkish painter Ibrahim Safi (1898 - 1983). He is known with his realist and impressionist works.
