Karlovy Vary - Holly Trinity monument Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another Baroque landmark definitely worth mentioning is the Holly Trinity monument also known as the Plague Column.

It is to be found not very far from the Chateau Tower. Having the monument installed, the Karlovy Vary citizens manifested their gratitude for being spared from the plague epidemic. The main element of the composition is the heavenly throne of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit coronating the Virgin Mary.

A pretty view from Karlovy Vary's old town, Mpampis. Your choice of perspective makes the viewer join you in looking up at the old Plague Column, and admiring the colorful ornate architecture behind. Good work on the contrast, and nice colors. The sky is a bit blown out but not too disturbing; I think you could have tried to clone away the TV antenna. Nice overall result though.

Very nice view of this famous monument of Karlovy Vary. I like the POV and the colors. I agree about the tv antenna. Ok, it's part of daily life but in this photo is a bit strange!

Hi Babis, I like the lovely saturated colours and the contrast that this baroque monument forms with the facades. The sturdy stones at the bottomn forms a fine pedestal to it all. The sky is indeed a bit blown out, but a gradient fill frame can fix this easily. Fine job!

Kalimera Mpampis,
attractive and well framed capture of the plague column, we can well see all elements explained in your note, nice background of ancient and attractively colored houses as well, did you stay in the hotel Romance ?
I agree with others about sky and antenna, you can't do much about the sky but a little bit of PSP and the antenna will disppear into the digital bin ;))

Tu as parfaitement choisi l'angle et bien cadré ce monument. L'image est très belle, le piqué excellent.
Tu pourrais peut-être ajouter un peu de cyan au ciel surexposé.

I would have prefer to have a very nice blue sky but we don't have always the choice!
Nice colors, very sharp.
