Photographer’s Note
Karlovy Vary is a city of colonnades. The best-known colonnade, which every spa visitor is sure to see, is the Hot Spring Colonnade. Over the time of the city's existence, it has changed its appearance several times. The original wooden garden-house over Hot Spring itself and the wooden troughs across the Teplá distributing the thermal water to separate houses in Tržiště vanished long ago. The fine and delicate colonnade in the Empire style has disappeared as well. Also the imposing colonnade of cast iron was removed thanks to WWII. It towered over the Teplá River bank from the end of the 19th century. The present colonnade conforms to the time when it was erected. The glass body of the massivecolonnade of today, much too robust and not really matching the delicate environment of the spa, is awaiting a general renovation that is to take place shortly. It should convert the colonnade into a temple of health, corresponding to the local atmosphere. Included in the revitalised site of the colonnade will be an already-operated excursion route into the old cellar, where visitors can learn some of the secrets of the Karlovy Vary thermal water and other facts that are not usually in travel guides.

Nice shot of depth and simetric repetitions. Very good framed.
As much times I look at it, much beautiful it seems to me.
I wonder if the sun was shinning on the left side, how will look the shadows of the columns...

Very nice perspective and composition. I like the repetitive pattern of columns and the how they draw the eye into the picture. The clock is a nice touch that breaks the symmetry. Well seen and captured!

Cher Mpampis,
Excellent travail Mpampis.
Bien amicalement.

Well - this is one of your best photos, Mpampis. The perspective established by this symmetrical view all the way down the colonnade is exquisite, the details and sharpness are excellent, and the clocks hanging from the ceiling are of course wonderful adds. Good job.

And this one is a great image! Excellent sense of depth, great play with the symmetry, textures, details and exposure control with a very nice soft light. I particularly like the absence of people which let us observe this splendid architechture.

Very beautiful and strong architectural photograph.
But I personally would have liked to see a human figure at the of the archways. But then that is my personal taste

Endless perfectly positioned pillars. Beautiful position to capture. Good one Mpampis. This reminds me of those palaces built in and around New Delhi with 1000 pillars. Fabulous architecture.

The symmetry and repetition create a lasting impression, marvelleous job, and exposure is right on which is impressive with the variable light conditioons in this case.

Hi Mpampis,
Great shot! The depth is tremendous. The repeating elements are very nice. Almost symmetrical?! Even the clock is symmetrical at 4 minutes to one o'clock.
Well done. Good colours and sharpness.
Greetings.
