Photographer's Note
“This late gothic Ctibor House dates back to 1597”
Ctibor House
Zizkovo NamEsti 6/6, Tabor, Czech Republic
One of the most beautifull houses on the main square, currently houses the civil registery. House nr 6 on Žižkovo náměstí 1532 was built for Tábor citizen Ondřej Čáslavský and is a valuable late-Gothic building with Renaissance elements. Its high facade is decorated with carved Gothic Rayonnant motif, typically for the end of gothic art in architecture. Of its Gothic elements is also the portal preserved. The illusionary façade-decoration which imitates the original decoration of the Windows comes from the Renaissance. In its Interior is preserved the rare Renaissance beamed ceiling with valuable painted decorations.
