Photographer’s Note

The fortifications of Dubrovnik enclose the old city and in doing so follow the lay of the land.Below you can see the walls and their thickness. I took the shot from a higher perch, also part of the walls as they rise according to the terrain.

The very first time I walked along these walls was in winter and the wind was so fierce that I had to abandon the idea of walking all around the city. This time I managed to do this as the weather was most pleasant.

An original and very good framing but especially a superb light with a good managment. The red roofs arise very well in the image. great propsect to the sea's landscape. Very good and very nice photowork.

Hi Klaudio.
We are nearly neighbours today on TE, both seemingly immersed in our travel archives.
It's a superbly framed photo with a wonderful view out over those bold red roofs. Great timing to captured the ship which seems to be steaming in, perhaps to be met by the small boat heading out from the marina. Wonderfully atmospheric, and lovely tones in the lower sky.

A beautiful view of the wonderful city. The cRoatians must be proud of a city like this!! I've seen some other photos and i have to say that it's amazing how all the buildings remained untouched. A perfect POV and some nice colors u got there! WD!

A very attractive photo with a lovely atmosphere! A great POV and a good natural frame. (The extra frame is almost unnecessary.) The light is really gorgeous here and the colours are beautiful and natural. TFS!

Firstly let me just say that`s a great picture. Lighting and colors are top notch, the motive is also beautiful, but I really think you went a bit over the top with your choice of frames. You already have a single thick natural frame (the window), and those two made afterward also look nice, but the gray one (for me) is just an obstruction.
But as I said, a lovely picture.

The classic frame in a frame works very well, you must have had a wonderful time walking along the old fortifications on this striking morning.

The lighting is superbly managed, even the narrow alley is well lit to such clarity that you can count the number of pedestrians. The red terra cotta roofs really stand out well in the FG, resulting in an excellent composition.
