Photographer’s Note
Taking this photo was a painful experience for me for as I looked through the viewfinder of my camera and saw those primary schoolchildren on a school excursion, for a moment there I saw myself, decades ago, with all my school friends- potentially my friends to be in my later life. But such things were not meant to be as my family fled from Communist Yugoslavia and I never returned until I was well into my thirties. By that time I was truly a stranger there, yet at the same time I felt that I still had some claim to the place of my childhood.
Trg Tri Bunara and the Trg Pet (Five) Bunara were the only source of fresh water for the walled city. Now the wells are sealed shut as the water is unfit for human consumption. Gone is the laughter and gossip and the sense of community that existed when women came to the wells and carried water on their heads in large urns and buckets.

Hello Klaudio,
So nice to see you back in the sunshine again, I hope all is well for you in regard to the fires.
What a beautiful capture, your POV and composition are wonderful, the vibrant colours are stunning and the whole atmosphere of this very picturesque town is captured perfectly.
It is such a pleasure to view this well crafted and pin sharp image.
Excellent.
Cheers

Hallo Klaudio!
I hope you are fine and around you things have become better.
This picture shows a really inviting and beautiful scenery and you managed the really difficult light quite well.
In combination with your interesting note an excellent contribution here.
Greetings from cool, humid and grey Germany!

Klaudio,
This is a well composed shot using the repeating pattern formed by the wells to lead the eye into the scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The group of children gives the scene a nice sense of life and scale. The blue sky is nice providing a good backdrop for the scene. Your light management is very good here under these less than perfect lighting conditions.
TFS,
Asa

Hello Klaudio,
interesting view, the perspective is excellent! I like the management of light and shadows (for me it is still a difficult task to cope with, sometimes!) Impeccably blue sky... and bright red clothes which surely enliven this scene :)
Best regards,
Elena

Caro Klaudio, good to see you're still posting things! Great composition here, a very sharp and extremely well-exposed image. The shade and light must have been difficult to manage but you did it. Great job. Un abbraccio, Lisa.

Hi Klaudio
Fond and painful memories at the same time but if nothing else it's nice to see some form of normality with the children out on their school outing. Excellent exposure.

Zdravo Klaudio,
Lijepa slika, a jos bolja prica, vrlo sentimentalna.
Pozdrav!

Hi Klaudio,
Thank you for sharing this touching moment of your meeting with the memories of your childhood. It's a very nice capture of that sunny charming square, with the children bringing much life and colour to it. It's very well framed/composed and features an admirable light management.
Regards, José.

Zdravo Klaudio
Jeste pomalo sentimentalna nota ali sta da se radi zivot je takav i svima nama su ostala i ostace secanja na detinjstvo
Kako rece Brano posle toliko godina ni tamo ni ovamo.
Izvanredna fotka o ovako lepom mestu u Zadru.
Pozdrav,Braca
