Photographer’s Note

No-No, this is not taken from a luxurious jail or something like that as somebody might think :))
It's an unusual view on the croatian coast during sunset,from behind a fence, just an idea..

J’aime bien ces couleurs et cette profondeur de champs.
Avec un cadrage complètement plat et le grillage parfaitement parallèle on aurait peut être gagné quelque chose de plus graphique,

Hi Veronika,

What a nice photo. I took several similar once and always have a dilema: what element should be sharp?
I think this picture would be even more interesting if the landscape would be the sharp element and the bars not.
But it's only my view. :)
And if you could catch a sailing ship on the horizon.....

Pleasant idea, Vero, the foreground grid of the window makes an interesting pattern and I like the slightly diagonal angle you took. Regarding the focusing, the more obvious thing might have been to get the background scenery sharp, but I like that you didn't do the obvious and instead experimented with opposing the sharp grid to a softer rendering of the scenery in the back. The late light brings a good ambience.

The other alternative would have been to blur the fence and keep the background sharp, but I think you made the right choice.
The colours of the sunset are great, but I like how you've given us something a bit different to the standard sunset shot.

Hi Vero. Well the first thing I was thinking was that you were in jail. I wondered what you did to get there? Maybee took pictures of things you shouldn't? I'm happy to read that it's nothing of that. I like the idea here; the sharp focus on the fence gives good depth; the setting sun gives a good atmosphere. Well done.

Unusual choice to focus on the fence, that enclosure, instead of the landscape. On purpose or not, you kept us "caged" and unable to freely enjoy a sunset. It's a fairly simple photo compared to others in your portfolio but it turns out to be one of your more emotionly complex ones.
Those deserve more than only two points.

Ahoj Veronika, again your very imaginative mind found another way to please our eyes.It was a good choice to embed your picture in a black frame like that as I'm sure that without it, you don't get the same effect...Very well seen! I even like the choice you made of focussing on the bars and not on the landscape.One thing ticks me a little: in the lower left, personnally, I would have preferred not to see light between the last bar and the black frame, just a thought.
