Hvar is considered one of the most attractive in Croatia. This is one of the most favorite tourist destinations in Dalmatia. Achieved notoriety thanks to an average 2,715 hours of sunshine a year of light and through the beautiful blue sea. A beautiful market town with a cathedral with him is one of the most beautiful in Dalmatia. The town has a ferry Split - Hvar - Vela Luka - Uble, but he does not carry cars, only passengers. We just sailed the ferry to Vela Luka on the island of Korcula.

At the beginning of the fifteenth century, when the Venetians ruled here, Hvar has become the richest city in Dalmatia, as all ships sailing to and from the Republic, curl right here. Unfortunately, the only remnant of those times are the walls of the sixteenth century. razed the rest of the Turks, in 1571.

The heart of the city is Trg Sv Stjepan, are gathered around the monument, and most of the shops, restaurants and cafes. In the summer it's so crowded that you can hardly find a free table.

In the main square there is a church, commonly called the Cathedral of the Renaissance facade. Also in the square is an impressive Arsenal, which has a theater upstairs. This building was one of the first public theaters in the world. It should go to the outside balcony Arsenal and admire the city skyline and harbor. On the other side of the square you can see the Hektorovic palace of the Venetian Gothic period, now sadly neglected.

Around the city there are many pebble beaches where it is difficult to walk around without shoes, but the sight of dazzling white stones and fabulously blue sea compensate all. The stones are so pretty and polished by the sea, the beaches that are warning about the prohibition taking out of stones from the beaches.

Around the town there is a group of islands Pakleni where the best beaches are located in the area. The most popular is Sveti - the largest Jerolim and Marinkovac, where do you wear bathing suits ;)

Sorry for this heinous, a commercial advertising the company producing obnoxious and unhealthy drink on umbrellas over the Café.

This is a scan from negative.
