Photographer's Note

Skradin a port town on the right bank of the river Krka north of Sibenik. There is a board Krka National Park and the starting point for the visitors. Organized tourism began to develop in 1960. On the site of the modern Skradin was once Illirian village called Scardona. In the Roman period it was the city district and the 6th century, until 1830 the seat of the diocese. Skradin was destroyed by the Avars and Slavs in the year 615 and again deserted by the Turks in 1522. Above the town are the remains of the Venetian fortifications.

Skradin is an attractive tourist destination whose beauty is complemented by three additional attractions; Krka National Park, waterfalls Skradinski Buk, Roški Slap with historic mills and island Visovac with the Franciscan monastery of the sanctuary, a rich library and a collection of works of art.

Marina with about 220 berths is the goal of many sailors. The town of white stone is very beautiful and beautifully situated on the lake among the high hills. You can spend time walking the streets, on their lots of lovely restaurants and pubs.
