Photographer’s Note

The island of Losinj, on the south side of Cres, is well known for its pleasant micro climate that made it a touristic destination already in the 19th century when the rich of the Austrian-Hungarian double monarchy came here to spend the winter.
Veli Losinj was chosen the prettiest village of Croatia in 2008.

c'est une exposition parfaite qui fait ressortir de manière fantastique, les couleurs, vives et dynamiques. Une vue sans voiture, et cette petite vespa ne gêne pas du tout.

Hello Gerrit,
The lovely blue sky makes a splendid backdrop for the tropical palms, which, in turn, provide some very interesting shadow play. The little scooter adds a dash of colour and a sign of life in the, otherwise, deserted street.

These "phoenix canariensis" are superb , with this blue sky in the background . I like a lot the perspective on this quiet little street . Greenery , flowers , beautiful stoned pavement : all the elements provide a feeling of little paradise .

I love the vibrant colours on this one. It is indeed very tropical. The vertical composition is a must for the palm trees and the perspective of the street is perfect to lead us into the scene. I particularly like the palm leaf shadows on the wall and the street.

Cette photo est très belle. J'aime les palmiers et leurs ombres qui se projettent dans cette rue pleine de soleil. Le scooter rouge fait un bon point d'accroche au dessous du bougainvillier.

Dag, Gerrit. Wat een lucht, zeg. Perfect om alles zeer goed te laten uitkomen. Ik vind je compositie zeer aangenaam met het straatje dat ons in het beeld leidt. Mooi contrast tussen de witte gevels en het rood van de bloemen en de Vespa aan de ene kant en het groen van de palmbomen aan de andere. Dit ziet er zeer leuk uit om te bezoeken.

a nice and quite 'corner' of this neighbourhood of Croatia.The existence of the palm trees make the scene as you write, to have a little bit tropical character.The saturated sky creates a dynamism in the whole scene.

Interesting and very tropical with the palm trees and lovely flowers. The vertical frame allows you to capture the palm tree in its entirety against a brilliant blue sky. Like the perspective created by the road and also the red scooter. Good work!

I do like a lot this small alley of Losinj. The special light, the flowers and the palm trees give a very Mediterranean atmospshere: it could easily be a village of my Island!
Very good chromatic contrast between the sky and the flowers.
A nice composition with fine sense of depth.
