Autumn in Plitvice, a photo from Licko-Senjska, Coast

Just got back from a small trip to Croatia and surrounding countries and I hope I can become active here on TE again for a while.

For my first shot from the trip I decided on a Croatia classic, the beautiful Plitvice Lakes. I hadn't planned on visiting here at all. While driving to Pula from Rovinj however I decided to skip Pula so I could visit Plitvice. I think it was a good trade.

The autumn leaves frame well the stream you've captured with a long exposure.

Hi Ryan,
Good to see work from you. Why not stop here in the first place?
Although it's famous and probably crowded with people, the place looks magic with all those waterfalls. Of course you gave you own personale Velvia touch to it what suits the picture very good on all the foliage. Also interesting to see that Oct is a good month to go there, instead of only green we now see a mix of fantastic colours....great stuff, as usual.

hey, look who's here :) welcome back, Ryan, we missed you.
first of all, I have to thank you for your suggestions concerning Yellowstone. we did stay in Silvergate, had great time, despite the snow and rain, and are determined to go back ASAP.
love the colours in this shot here, and how the way you have composed the photo creates a strong impression that it is not only water flowing down the hill, but the trees and colours as well. as Henk says, we don't see to often autumn colours from Croatia, but judging from your photo, the place must look magic. great work, nothing more to add.

This is a fantastic shot! The long exposure makes the water look fantastic while placing the surrounding landscape in crisp focus. The lighting and colors are outstanding with fine sharpness and DOF. Fine composition and POV here as well.

This is an often shown place at TE,but you found a different POV and managed a great composition.It`s tecnical perfect and these wonderful autumncolors are amazing.I like a lot the effect at the water created by the long exposuretime.A great shot!!!

Sweet natural Autumn colours here with excellent racing silky water. The water also has gorgeous tones throughout, you were right to go here it is indeed a fantastic place. Well done

Depiction of the waterfalls by using the slow shutter speed and the appropriate exposure is really impressive and beautiful. Good use of soft backlighting has given brilliance to the leaves.

I was in Crotaia in this summer... The counrty looks fantastic in autumn also...

An excellent trade, although Pula is also a nice town with an admirable Colosseum. I spent a day in Plitvice too during the Summer. The light was awful and I didn't had a tripod with me. To me photograph was just point-and-shoot at the time...
It will be amazing to see this same spot through your wonderful lens. I love this one. The Autumn colors are wonderful. You managed to get a great exposure with vibrant colors. Not easy in the middle of all these darks and highlights. So much to see... I really like it.

Mmmm... beautiful Plitvice... your autumn-inspired shot
brings back sweet memories, Ryan!
Seems like many TE members have visited the place recently,
which is a big plus for Croatia.
I like a lot your choice for composition and these trees
emerging from the upper left corner to follow the diagonal and the waterflow - lovely inclusion of one of
the lakes in the bottom right corner.

a few spots (if you're lucky with the weather).

Hi Ryan,

Admirable landscape with soft light, luminous colours and impressive setting.

It seems you were right there at the right moment to catch the most stunning conditions. The way you have frame this scene is flawless. There's a lot of depth through multi-layered scene. Even the small waterfalls behind the branches are a delicate but stunning detail. The blend of automnal colours with this turquoise water is over the top. Great work!

Impressive clarity here, and off coures the silk like water falls so smooth and creamy white, yet liquidy flowing down like milk. and the autumn colors so vibrant and vivid, illuminated by the back lighting. All that and a nice POV and composition make it a stunning image. Thanks

Hi Ryan:

Lovely colors again on this one--even better than on the other one. I think the main thing I prefer about this one over the other one is the additional color of the trees, and the leaves on the forest floor--such a feeling of solitude and peace (even though I'm sure this isn't a very solitary place). Great job.

Really beautiful shot, with the colours of the leaves adding some brightness and lightness to the normally dark forest. The smooth flowing lines of the waterfall are beautiful too, with the contrast between the moving water and the still trees and leaves being quite nice. Great piece of work!

It was a wise choice, Plitvice is definitely prettier than Pula (except on a rainy day, or weekends when most of Zagreb descends on the lakes), dreamy shot.

An idilic scene you got here. Very nice colour scheme. The Autumn leaves are a nice contrast against the deep saturated green.
The water flowing against the foreground tree trunks give a nice geometrical game and leadding lines.
