No travelogue including Plitvice Lakes National Park would be complete without a picture of Veliki Slap, which translates literally as Big Waterfall. At 70m tall it is the highest waterfall in the park. It is here the Plitvice River cascades over the limestone rocks and starts the River Korana.

I couldn’t get far enough back to fit it all in the frame so this is a stitch of three images top to bottom.

In the WS is the top of the fall from a different POV

Hi Kath,
another fantastic waterfall from Pitvice's park. Good vertical format and composition, nice natural colours and interesting sight in WS also. I like it.
Gr., Aleksander

Hi Kath,
Ah, there are the higher ones, the more spectacular ones, the ones all people go for i think. It's set in a tight framing, but that's not really bothering me. I like the foliage in front on the bottom and the ones on top, that gives a nice touch to it against the brown rocks.
Have a nice day, Henk

Good morning Kath,
really a nice hot of the Veliki Slap with its 70m tall.Excellent the management of the movement is not absolutely paused but has the sense of the water's running.I like the brilliant light as the colors too It is really nice the way the great sense of dimension interacts with those colors.Very nice.

Have a nice week,Danos

Hi Kath,
A wonderful fall!! Nive to see this beauty against a rocky background.
Regards,
Sagarneel.

Wow, this seems really tall, indeed. Impressive sight of the falling water which seems to go much faster at the bottom. It surprises me how three pictures of a subject in motion can stich so well but I don't see anything out of place, although there's a strange curve in the middle, which seem to be from the rock shape. The WS is actually very beautiful as well, but it's much nicer to observe all this height from a relatively close approach.

I've seen my old film pictures from Plitvice just yesterday :o)
and I've a similar one, not with this quality (this your is absolutely better)
excellent work Kath, BRAVA!!!

have a nice week,
Fabio.

Hi Kath
The PP was well done and the waterfall is nicely framed. I think the higher shutter speed works well here as there is just enough water to provide that soft effect without having to slow the shutter speed.
Phil

Beautiful slow exposure shot of this lovely waterfall that is so wonderfully framed by the green surrounding. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim

Kath,
You caught great dynamics in these waterfalls.
I like your compo and how it enhances the huge size of this natural sight.
Regards,
JB.

Hi Kath,
I was about commenting on you having used a tripod when I saw the shutter speed. Silly me, of course that with such a tall and vertical fall, 1/80 is enough for that wonderful motion blur. It's a beautiful image and I just wonder how impressive it must be alive, specially considering that you had to use 3 28mm shots to make this image.
I like also the WS very much and I would hesitate much choosing what is my favourite. Maybe the main post is more effective as documentary, but maybe I prefer the WS as a "photo".
Regards, José.

Hi Kath,
excellent long shot covering the entire waterfall. Good definition and light.
Regards, Gerrit

Hello Kath,
that´s a very nice POV. I like the verticle format, it is in line with the fall.
The colors are great and the water looks stunning.
TFS and have a nice day,
Kris

hello kath
falls full with charm or the vegetation gives him a with dimensions savage, a character will have given the scale height friendships

Hi Kath, the WS is good but I prefer this shot of the waterfall in it's entirety. So many great postings from you since I was last here I didn't know where to start!
cheers
Leon

Hi Kath
the ws image may be the most scale impressive, yet this one is in my opinion a sesible shot with a very nice sense of proportion.
I really enjoy it.

Such beautiful waterfalls shown in both this and the workshop. You have done a great job on the water flowing!! Super good colors. TFS

My first visit to your gallery, Kath. And I was reading your intro...Some of us would love to travel, but a one way ticket alone to another country might cost us a years' wages/salary!More so if you're from a third world country!
This is a supernb shot( I feel this shot should be on TN since I'm just trying to set foot here, after having been on TN for a few months).
Very well done, my friend!
Goldy

Hi Kath,
Good presentation of this waterfall. Colours and details are very nice, good sharpness, wonderful composition.
Georg

Hi kath - such an impressive waterfall! I bet this was a nice and memorable day in your trip to this region. I like the clear and sharp capture of it.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Kath,
oh, I see you posted a lot of new pictures I didn`t critique so far, I have to change that!
Well according to the pictures I have seen of this place this must be a great place to visit and a playground for photographers ;-)
Wonderful colors and the water looks great, even without the blury effect. Nice job Kath, well done!

Take care
Mark

Hi Kath,

You are always so quick to post new pictures. I looked at this picture earlier today and now you have already posted a new one. I really like this neat and elegant shot. The picture is very typicical for you. True to life and never any extreme POV even though you have carefully chosen the best POV and also tried different POVs. Here you get a really good idea of the size of the waterfall. You could clearly see where it starts and ends and a vertical picture is perfect here. An excellent photo-job. TFS and have a nice evening!

Cheers,

Ulf

Uh, last time I visited it was almost dry! Remember getting
to the bottom of it and thinking of how one can get a
decent pic of it when the water falls down and creates
a huge amount of spray... and I can't now remember if it's possible to get this shot of the
whole waterfall from the top (opposite side of the gorge)?
Anyway, this one is a beauty!

Robi

Hello Kath
Vertical stitching is something I've not tried before. Here you don't seemed to have used your preferred slow shutter speed for such shots. This is definitely better than the WS. Like the framing with the foliage both in the FG & the top, with that slice of sky. Well done!
Best Regards
Angshu

Hi Kath,
I've been away so am way behind. I like this vertical perspective of the high waterfall and you used just righ right speed to show motion but not blur too much. Well done and TFS. Gerald

Hi Kath

considering you have stitched 3 frames together here, and with the flowing water, this image looks very good, i would have preferred a bit more room at the top, but this is just one minor crit.

Derek

Hi Kath.

Simple but nice and wonderful photo. The low POV is very good and enhances the power of the waterfall.

Well done.
