The Plitvice Lakes National Park
The area of Plitvice Lakes, declared a National Park in 1949, is a valley situated between high forested mountains.
Here lies a string of sixteen beautiful lakes and tarns of crystal blue-green color, one below another.
They are fed by many small streams and brooks and spill into each other in foaming cascades and thundering waterfalls.
In the waterless karst with its sparse vegetation you come sud-denly upon a treasure of water in which are reflected densely forested hills.
The exceptional beauty of the lakes and waterfalls, rich plant and animal life, contrasting colours, forests and the pure mountain air attract many nature lovers from all over the world.

Hallo Philip!
A wonderful sight! I heard a lot about this place - and your photo confirms this. The fresh green in contrast to the white water and the dark rocks - a dream from fairy tale! The whole scenery has an a bit mystic atmosphere. The centered waterfall works well here.

Hello Philip,
A fine capture of these falls, but I like especially the contrasting green tones of the surrounding trees. Good natural colours and excellent clarity.

belles couleurs et surtout une très belle texture des chutes d'eau. Il aurait peut être été intéressant de zoomer un peu plus sur les chutes. Peut être pour un workshop.

Ta photo me plait beaucoup parce que c'est une photo au printemps alors que j'y étais à l'automne 2007. Le site est toujours aussi beau, seules les couleurs du feuillage changent. Ces cascades figées dans leur chute ont très belle allure.

These falls are so pretty especially being surrounded by the trees bearing the light green leaves of springtime. The light is so pretty too.
