Photos

The photo shows the "salt gardens" (this is the German name) of Secovlje, and what is show on the photo is finally not Croatia, but Slovenja. But finally it is Croatia as the photo was taken from Croatian territory from a dead end road near Zupelje on one of the slopes towards the "Piranski Zaliv". In short it is a view from non-EU-territory into the EU. What was fascinating me was how calm and integrated into landscape these salinas showed themselves. With binocular you could get a feeling of the marvellous bird life in this area as e.g. a lot of Egretta alba were easy to recognise even from large distance. Was really a pleasure just to sit in the grass of the hill slope and to "dive" into this peaceful landscape. I stayed there for quite a long time:-)
