Korcula is one of Croatia's largest islands. It is also claimed to be the greenest. There is quite a good bus network on the island and lots of good walking so you can catch a bus to one of the inland towns and then walk to a coastal town enjoying superb views. On this day we caught a bus west along the coast from Korcula town to Racisce from where there were good walks further along the coast and below extensively terraced hills. Many people have abandoned cultivating the terraces for other work. Nature is fighting back and reclaiming many of the terraces with a range of trees, and especially pine trees taking over.
