Photographer's Note

Dubrovnik, a town, port and tourist centre of the southern Croatian coast; population about 50,000. It lies at the foot of the limestone Srd Mount (412 m), in a valley enclosed to the south-west by the Lapad plateau and a smaller reef with the oldest part of Dubrovnik. The ancient town core was connected with the suburban zone on the other side of the valley by levelling and filling up of a marshy valley between the Gruz Bay in the north and Stari Porto (Old Port) in the south, as well as by the construction of the Placa (Stradun). Stradun thus became the centre of the town and its main street, connecting two opposite town gates: the Ploce Gate in the east and the Pile Gate in the west. Upon the construction of the port in the Gruz Bay, Gruz was gradually annexed to Dubrovnik and became an integral part of the town. Later on, Dubrovnik extended also to the Lapad peninsula, to lower parts of the Srd slopes and outside the town ramparts toward Zupa. The climate of Dubrovnik is characterized by warm and dry summers and mild winters........

Mucho tiempo desde la última vez que se le vio por estos contornos. Me alegra verte tan azul. Hermoso paisaje de un lugar que tengo que conocer. Seguro que sí. Excelente profundidad de campo.

Wonderful view and excellent composition. The colours are beautiful and the addition of the branch works very well. I find it, a little bit over-exposured but it's still a very nice picture! Thanks for sharing!

Merci de nous faire voyager et nous montrer des endroits qui me sont inconnus. Je peux profiter de la qualité photographique pour apprécier cet endroit qui semble être une véritable invitation au repos. Les visites de la ville doivent être également très intéressantes.

Es un precioso lugar, lo capturaste muy bien, con muy buena profundidad y colores. La composicion esta excelente y me ha gustado mucho la planta de Maguey como marco.

Hola José Manuel, un excelente paisaje nos muestras. Imagino que Croacia debe ser con paisajes cambiantes, pero no me la imaginaba así, con esos colores que has logrado mostrar; me ha sorprendido gratamente. Un saludo.

Hola ito,
qué envidia sana de no estar ahora mismo tomando el sol en esta playa.
La zona del puerto con la fortaleza y el puerto, es la típica que se muestra siempre de Dubrovnik, pero tu vista da la información necesaria para que gente que no haya estado nunca pueda identificarlo y además nos enseñas esta playa que por sorpresa se asoma al mar para dejarnos refrescar. La verdad me sorpredió ver que al lado de lo que yo tenía visto, había esta playa. Creía que era mas rocosa toda la costa. La luz veraniega es indiscutible, los colores azules del cielo y los turquesas y vedes del mar dan mucha vida a la vista. La flor típica de esta atzavara se combinan perfectamente con el paisaje y ayuda a embellecer la composición. Muy bien hecho subiendo a lo alto de este montículo.

Hola Jose,
A nice view of Dubrovnik with a good heat feeling and splendid colors to be seen in the sea, I appreciate you chose a lower different PoV than the one we always see, I'd wish the branch to be more on the left to hide the diving platform. The view is nicely deep and has good perspective thanks to the beach, I find you've sharpened a bit too much here.

Hi Jose -superb combination of beachside setting and historic architecture, the agave plant was a great idea, though I would prefer it slightly more to the left.
