Photographer's Note
The walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia - until they invent a time machine, this is the best place to go to walk into the past. My goal of this photograph was to capture a balance between three elements - air, water, and earth. I used Photoshop 6.0 to slightly modify the contrast. I am looking for feedback to help improve my photographic skills. Thank you!

Great photo. I think you succeded with your goal.
I like the contrast of colours. The orange roof tiles and the blue sea make it for me. The land mass on the right balances the picture. The clouds also add to the picture.
Well done
:)

Excellent shot Kolby. The colours are vivid and the composition is really good. Nice playing with the light. Well done!

Hi,
Very original photo. Almost every pic of this place it's not original because people generally shots the old part of the city from city walls. Your choice is much better. Also the collours, shadows, and light are interesting. Good capture. Thanks. Maki

Nice framing of a beautiful part of the world. I think you did need to think more about timing, in order to get the most out of this shot. Furthermore, maybe investing in a better camera could pay off - i.e. taking a RAW shot (or good slide film) on a tripod with a polarising lens during sunset or sunrise would have made a shot worthy of enlargement.
On the other hand, with photoshop you could boost sharpness, a little more contrast, reds and greens and saturation. But these 'enhancements' can only go so far.
Cheers mate,
jp
Oh, one more thing... Framing could be improved slightly by aiming a bit higher, which will include more of the sky and less of the hill to the bottom right hand corner.

Hi Kolby,
Nice colors and spot! I think I would have liked to see moe water instead of the land mass to the right, and would have tilted the pic to the right a few degrees (to me it looks a little bit slanted, but maybe it's just my eyes).
Thanks for sharing,
Raluca

Interesting view of the city. The rock to the right may in one way be a bit destructive but it depends how you look at it. According to me it mystifies the picture a bit. It looks like the enemy is watching behind this mountains, preparing an attack. :)
