Photographer's Note

This is one of the narrow streets in Old Town of Dubrovnik.Taken during a morning stroll around Old Town.The most important feature of these charming streets,that strikes our eyes is ubiquitous cobblestone and the lack of greeenery.For me they have definitely something charming and inimitable in itself.The streets are pedestrianized,so it´s a nice change from big cities streets.

fajny klimat ma to miasto,

troszkę słabsza góra z wypalonym i lekko ulepszonym nieboskłonem... ale i tak super!

A very beautiful composition, Krzysztof. The accent on those street lamps makes it very special and charming. The pastel colors are excellent as well and the perspective's just perfect. The light is strong but very effective here and the whole scene is well contrasty and sharp, looks like another HDR?

I'm glad you included the person to judge just how narrow the street is. I guess these streets and buildings were built long time ago even before automobiles. Nice capture with good lighting. Good pov and dof with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

What a nice view into some of the old narrow streets of Dubrovnik. You have managed the difficult light very well. Obviously a beautiful city well worth a visit. A great thing to see that this fine streets are not overcrowded. Very nice work:)

Sympatyczna, cicha i zacieniona uliczka w piêknym Dubrowniku. Zawsze mnie zadziwia³a dba³o¶c o czysto¶æ ulic w Chorwacji, gdy tymczasem po drugiej stronie Adriatyku na ulicach nierzadko ¶mietnisko.
Piêkna , nieco mroczna kolorystyka i doskona³a jako¶æ obrazu.

Hi Krzystof,

Not an easy shot to take, with such deep shadows & strong highlights but you've done very well. Excellent sharpness & nice use of diminishing linear perspective, with a silhouetted human figure perfectly positioned near the vanishing point. Good colour & saturation. Have a great Sunday!

The lonely man walking on this narrow street creates very mysterious atmosphere. Nice architectural building with soft colors. The winding street gives a nice depth. I like the play of shade and light . Very sharp and well composed image.

I love the alluring DOF here Krzysztof, and with the light reflecting off the stone street. The person in the photo gives it more depth. Now those doors are really cool, sort of 1 3/4 door, very different. Beautiful earth tone colors saturated perfectly and with superior clarity. Good play with light and shadows as well. Gorgeous POV Krzysztof, great job!!

Elegant alley, for shure, in wich I can't detect any overexposure on the historic walls that create an infinite perspective due to street narrowess.
It's a must that streets lights turn on at night or else the footpath clould become a hideout for Jack the Ripper!

It is beautiful place indeed,Krzysztof. I love the POV and the colour of the buildings.. the light reflection from the sky on the ground is nice as well.. another most interesting one is the reflection on the lamp, the person in the street added on more element.

Its always a treat to see a scene like this devoid of people, brilliantly done in capturing it like this. It does indeed have a sense of charm, and reminds me of how the streets of Pompeii must have looked.

This old town conveys lots of its own charm and atmosphere of the location, the cobbled stone alleyway beckons us to enter and explore right through to the far end. A magnificent short with its character and the detail in the stoneworks and tones have a special enchantment about them. Pp treatment is excellent with nice touche of blue while presence of the sole figure is a real bonus that makes lots of different. Well done, Congrats.

Hi Krzysztof,

This is such a great perspective that draws me right into the location and down the street. The vertical layout gives added strength the the already impressive composition. I especially like the emptiness of the scene, with the exception of the solitary individual in the distance, it feels very quiet and calm. His placement is perfect, right in the focal point, which also gives a nice sense of scale. The light management is spot on and the detail is sharp, good textures throughout. The reflection on the lamp at the top of the frame is a perfect compliment to the entire image. Fantastic shot!
