Photographer’s Note

I have gone back to my walk upon Dubrovnik's fortification walls.It was mid to late afternoon and the play of light and shadows enriched the texture and gave me more to ponder about as far as composition and balance were concerned.I like the shimmer on the water and the lightness of the sky.

Nice light/shadow play indeed. Also great depth offered by this interesting POV. The stillness of the foreground is somewhat conmpensated by the dynamics of the ships in the BG. Nicely arranged!

Hi Klaudio. You are again at a very nice point to catch this view, and at the right moment with the boats in movement leaving traces on water. Wonderful details of the wall texture and the blue of the sky and sea make it warm and appealing. Thanks for sharing.

I've enjoyed accompanying you on your walk around the walls of Dubrovnik. You had a beautiful day for this, the sky is so clear and the light has been wonderful. I like your POV very much, the view through the stone buildings opening onto the sea is so picturesque.
I like the person leaning over the wall on the right of frame.
A very beautiful capture, simple but exquisite.

You have made good use of one of the many opportunities for nice compositions that arise among the irregularities of the Dubrovnik city wall and the views to be found from it. I was about to write "this is summer", when I noticed it was taken in October. Well, for a Scandinavian this certainly has an atmosphere of summer.

YOu have balanced very well between the water, sky and the buildings, I like the skyline you have created with this POV. Exposure is beautifully control between the bright sky and the darker walls in shade. The wall extending to the top right corner is a good decision.

Lovely composition, the walls of the building leading me out to that beautiful ocean and the cruise ships in the background. Great detail in the buildings by good light management. Good sharp and clear photo.

Excellent viewpoint giving view to the sea between those walls. The big ship is perfectly placed. But I can't help thinking this would be better some other time of the day, with more sunshine on those walls.
