The windmill, built in the middle of XVIII century, is the symbol of the Old town of Nessebar. The town is located on a small peninsula in the Black Sea wich is linked with the land only by a long and narrow isthmus. It has existed for more than 3,000 years. It emerged as a fortified Thracian settlement (the Tracians gave the town its original name Messimbria), afterwards it was a Greek polis, then a Roman colony. In the 1956 the town was announced an architectural and archeological reserve of UNESCO. Now has 2 parts - the Old Town and the New Town.

Nice capture, the lightning is wonderful.
You can try to crop it to square size to make more impessive.

I didn't know that there are windmills in Bulgaria:) Great shot, the contrast is great, Dutch people would be jealous if they see this photo:)

A very striking shot! I think that your exposure is very good and it is very sharp. The only thing that i would have liked to see in the shot is a little more foreground to put the windmill into better context with its surroundings.
All the best Rob (-:

What a very interesting mill, we have a lot of mills here in the Netherlands, but they always have 4 wings.
