Photographer's Note
Crossing Bulgaria on our way to Istanbul, somewhere close to Bulgarian-Turkish border, we got lost , even if we had a GPS system...
Anyway when I saw this building, stopped the car and we tried a few shots ...because I found this scene very sad
If u will watch careful u will see a lot of details on each level, people ....
Also in Romania u can see places like these, i dont want to say nothing more ....signs of communist period !

Wonderful photo! No lens distortion! Its difficult to shoot this kind of composition without having lens distortion. Well done Isa!
Have a good Monday tomorrow, all the best!

Amazing shot. It takes a moment to even digest what you're looking at. Nice work.

Hi Isabela!
This is terrible, but ... this is in Slovakia, Romania. I've seen sites in Bulgaria as much misery that the car passed by at least 15 minutes. This is Europe. Sorry i havent green point sign. I give for you two points.

Not like these huge apartments of the communist era, but every big city in Turkey also has such slum houses in the suburbs, making the cities look like mega villages. Yes it is sad, and an evidence of a poor economy.
But your photo is very interesting (and even graphically pleasing), full of details to investigate.
Cheers,
Deniz

Even before I read your note, Isabela, your image struck me as extremely sad. As you say, looking at it in detail compounds the sadness. Quite apart from the meanness of the place, the dilapidation, the abandonment of many apartnments and the dangerous loss of balcony walls, the entire structure looks fundamentally unsound and unsafe. Your image is brilliantly achieved and your note that the scene is far from unique makes it even more disturbing. Thank you.
Best regards,
Mary

Excellent work, Isabela, the forms and structures remind me also of a new york pic of mine, even if it´s the luxury version of this one.
Good to show the truth.
Great one. Chris

Hello Isabela,
The life of people so well presented without almost a human being in sight. An eye catching document, technically perfectly presented.

Cette photo est un témoignage très fort des conditions de "vie" des habitants de cet immeuble en ruine. Impressionnant!

Hi Isabela,
Very impressive photo. How ugly is this building! Partly abandoned and devastated... How can people live here? And still there is a life going on here. They are washing a lot...

ha... there still are the places like this - a heritage from our lovely times when trabi and moskvich were the symbols of luxury nd the human rightes were wiped off from the dictionaries...
shame that after 20 years we still have the monuments like this one...
best, j.

Buna,
vezi ce frumos e Romania - asa ceva n-avem, cel putin eu nu l-am vazut inca. Altele da, apartemente intr-o grajda de porci si asa mai departe, dar un bloc asa de improvizat niciodata. Asta e, saracie n-are limite de jos.
Te pup,
Johannes

Communist world is not a sign of good life ...isa.
Such signs are well visible in Kerala too..and even more miserable !!
Life is so centered into a circle, and people play the part of a circus crew to live..to breathe !!!!
Explode to the heights where one can... but this world never changes..be it Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, France or India !!!!

Ciao dear Isabela,
among the photos of the your beautiful gallery this has make curious me for the graphic effect but also for the content, well explained in your note. Qualitatively the image is perfect, rich of details well defined, even if it is really sad to see how the least fortunate people live. Unfortunately these images we can see all over the world, especially to the edges of the great cities, those richer. Excellent work, dear friend!
Ciao, have a nice week end!
Paolo
PS: I hope to see you at the meeting! :-)

... and Balkan attitudes and lifestyles. Balkan contrasts.
Aoleu, pe unde ati ajuns! :) Inca o poza foarte reusita, dar de data asta ne arati un subiect si o atmosfera foarte contrastanta. Incadrarea, geometria si culorile sunt bune.
Great composition. Well done.

I really feel discomfort and sad to see how life really was in this city but i can see some units even equip with satellite receivers...seems it will collapse at any time, with this damage and broken corridors this certainly is not a safe place to live in...what about the safety of the children?....nice shot bela TFS
