The extravagant snail-house in Sofia`s quarter of Simeonovo is one of the local attractions. It represents a colorful 5-storey building in the shape of a snail. On the roof are "perched" small ladybug, butterfly and around "crawl" other smaller snails. The construction was built in 2008 with high quality of lightweight and environmentally friendly materials. Charming artistic approach, Miguel, a fine idea to vividly paint a house. No-less a beautiful point chosen to take this photo, not an easy task within city houses.
Fine photo, lovely sunject.

What an odd and very pleasing building! It sure is a surprise to see any building look like this, and the duck seems so surreal down there! Just the purpose of Trekearth, to learn about the world, and I would almost guarantee I would never know of this place were it not for your brilliant post! Really well done.

I bet you that thing is even slower than a snail! Very interesting building, what is it used for?

Hello miguel, It is the most weird building I have ever seen (in photos). What a crazy idea! What fun it would be to live in this snail. No wonder it is a big attraction, I would also go there to see if I was in Sofia. A was almost 40 years ago, so for sure, it wasn't there yet). Excellent presentation. You could show also the view from the side to see its 5 storeys.
We have in Sopot also very weird Crooked House, and one house standing on the roof, but ot is nothing compared to this snail.

I've seen photos of this house on the web, but never on TE. Guess this is the first one here:)! I like the pov, the way you framed it and the colours. It must be really interesting to see it there.
