Photographer’s Note
Nice huh?
Veliko Tarnovo=Great Tarnovo as Tarnovgrad=Tarnovcity was the capital of Bulgaria between 12-14 c.(note that Bulgaria exist since 681 where she is now and since 149 till 681 as a nomad/moving state!).
It has a really beautyful old town. The architecture is the fascinating Balkanstyle. For tourists are at least two days recomanded to see the sights of the city. Have a nice trip there!

Such a beautiful town, I was there just two weeks ago, but part of the attraction for me is the cascading red pan tile rooves, nt sure about your choice of B&W here.

Da, klass! :)
Veliko Turnovo is really a unique town. I have never seen a town similar to it. It is 3 dimensional! What I mean by 3 dimensions is difficult to explain by words. But just look at the photo and you will understand. The city is located on steep hills. There is also a big river going through the city as a large valley. I saw there in winter. It was amazing in green colour. So I also think it would have been much better if you took this photo as coloured.
There is a hill in the middle of this valley and a beautiful and elegant cathedral stands tall on this hill. This hill was the last castle that resisted against Ottoman army in 1400s.
There are also some interesting monesteries on the surrounding hills, just five minutes drive to the city center.
I was really impressed by Veliko Turnovo.
