Photographer’s Note

Childhood is the time, when a personality grows and develops values and some basic aspects of human character.

Childhood is the time when people learn to use their imagination to try and look to the future and create wishes, and visions how to achieve them.

Childhood is a freedom of mind, when one is still not "responsible" for the "practical" side of the cherished dreams...

I think that these two little guys were creating in that moment something very big, crystal pure, beautiful and so wonderful - a child's dream...

Taken again in Balchik, on the sea alley, while looking for interesting boats as shooting objects...:-) I enjoyed their dreamy mood very much. Hope you will do too...:-)

Hi Maria, yo got some fans here, I bet you're going to learn them how to take pictures of boats. You caught their poses very well. It's nice how the left boy is hanging on that concrete wall, I like you composition, and the detail od that crane on the left side. Very Good stuff, Maria, and a nice note too.

I se the curiosity in that picture. "I’d be happy to come to the harbor" I do thing they have said:-))

Excellent compoced, great natuel pose, excellent light and contrast, good color, a good picture of upcomming boat photographer:-))

As a father of two sons it´s very easy for me to like the combination of the image and your note very much. Great atmosphere – I think that a harbor is a best possible place for dreaming. Nice soft tones and effective color combination of red and black. Well composed – I just hope the parts of their feet weren´t framed out...

A good compo and positioning in the frame. I'm not too bothered about the clipped feet, but there seems to be an odd edge around the sleeve of the red jumper, which seems particularly odd, since the black one, and the detail in the wall, is nicely sharp.

The note is great. It really adds a context and a purpose to the photo. As for the photograph, I would have liked to see more of the children's profiles. Anyway it's filled with tenderness and for sure, a very sensitive shot. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

A very engaging and optimistic scene, Maria. I like how you captured the two boys looking out towards the water, and they are well positioned in the scene. Some fine harbor details can be spotted in the background. The only very little thing I regret is that the lamp in the upper left is a bit cropped. A beautiful moment accompanied by a note of just the same quality, well done.

Lovely symbolic capture Maria.:-) I like the contrast between these little boys, conjuring a fantasy world around this vista before them and the harsh concrete. Innocence and imagination against the harsh aspects of everyday life. Very fine work (and I mean here your conceptually tightly integrated pic & note :-)) !

How I remember my fascination as a child with men at work, whatever they were doing. I wasn't close to a river or surely I'd have been watching as these boys are, wide-eyed, no doubt, the barges and tugboats passing by. This charming photo and your evocative note fit together like hand in glove. Your wonderful eye saw the possibilities and you made a fine capture. That you cropped it tight but left the boy's shoes present works really well, especially with the boy on the left leaning up on his toes, as though in anticipation of something grand. Fine composition and excellent sharpness. I like it. Thank you.

I enjoy their dreamy mood too Maria. As an eternal child I easily imagine what is going on in those moments. We should never go out of childhood ;-). Really good composition indeed.
