My 5th photo from Mostar, and the 4th one with Mostar Bridge (Stari Most). I have one more postcard of the place to share. I have a strong love for this place and i can share countless postcards from there :)
"One of devotees of Mostar and its bridge, Austro-Hungarian soldier and skilled writer Robert Michel wrote the following in 1909 while he was comparing new and old buildings:
We can enjoy the personality of the old Mostar, in despite of new, the old is stronger for its modesty. When we walk along the alleys and go down to the Neretva River, we will experience some strong, clear feeling. The most will name this feeling as "orient". But we will name just - Mostar".
"In the former war, in 1993, the servants of evil power destroyed the Old Bridge. The photo of its destruction went across the world and caused the shock to all who find the meaning of life in the beauty, tolerence and unity. Although it seemed that serene spirit of Mostar was defeated, the events showed something opposite. Invincible spirit of Good survived the destruction of Evil and continued to live on both banks of the Neretva river. With financial support of civilized world, the team of Turkish experts made stone beauty shining again over the Neretva. In the summer of 2004 "the New Old Bridge" was opened. Although the trails of those who visited it through centuries can not be seen, the "new" old bridge takes back the known feeling to people from Mostar and the connection between the past and the hope in better future. The new bridge is not just reminder on suffering but it is embodiment of struggling against destruction and barbarism."

>:PPP...

a new and refreshing composition of this amazing bridge. Mostar, this interesting and beautiful city I visited only for some days, but hopefully i will go there again-with plenty of time. A very good note, crisp and clear with good colors, Tfs !
Have a nice evening.

Selamlar Deniz. An original shot blending the infinite sky and the elegant beauty of the bridge.I have posted a few shots of the bridge from the 1970s when the "trails of those who visited it across the centuries" could be seen and the past history could be felt in those old stones. As far as i know the barbarians responsible have as yet not been charged. Justice moves like a snail. Selamlar. Klaudio.

A very original point of view of the new old bridge. It looks elegant. The dark blue sky as a background is very appropriate. You also chose an unusual angle for the houses. The whole photo is creative.
I have been an admirer of the old bridge, but the last time I visited Mostar at the end of the war there was no bridge and these houses looked very different. The city was in ruins. I am looking forward to see the new beauty.

Selam sevgili damat bey,

Alot of architecture on the pages, more than ever before. When was the last time you shot these frames ? a great lead into the photo...so little and yet so much..informative value in the note..quite interesting you decided to settle for "servants of evil power" and "invincible spirit of Good"
