Photographer’s Note
I still remember a similar photo from National Geography, taken by their reporter almost hundred years ago from the same location. It was year 1994, the bridge was destroyed, I was in a new country and that small photo was so important to me. Even the next year, some of my new friends, who also arrived from ex Yugoslavia wanted a copy of my precious picture.
So, there we are 15 years after, I'm standing on Lučki Bridge (Luka is one of older city's district) and looking at renewed Old Bridge and I feel so much pride.
And there is so much similarity between this photo and that old one.
Lučki Bridge was built 1900 by one of most famous city's major Mujaga Komadina (1839-1925), who happened to live in three totally different times, under Ottomans rule,Austro-Hungarian and new united Yugoslavia.
Since we are talking about old times, there is a short note or even poem written by one of rulers from Ottomans Empire, about 400 years ago by name Dervish pasha about this city:
Indescribable is Mostar’s most perfect beauty
Are you surprised at the language used by this lover of Mostar?
Not in all the universe, not even in Paradise
Could one ever find the air and the water of Mostar....

Hello Brano,
A bridge very important through the history and that has seen a lot of changes.
The view on the old town and the river is really beautiful. Interesting older constructions with much green between them and all around a blue river.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brano
Nice capture from the Bridge.
Nice POV and colours
I like how you framed it
It looks a little bit over-exposed, anyway I like it
Have a nice weekend
Aires
PS - Thanks for your visit and comments

Hello Brano.
A nice postcard, perhaps a bit too contrasted and/or overexposed, but it's a question of taste. Interesting view of a restored bridge. I've been in Croatia last summer but I've not visited this place, I see it's wonderful.
Best regards.
Bobo.

Bonsoir Brano
Vous avez choisi un excellent POV, qui montre a la fois la vielle ville, la rivière qui guide jusqu'au pont, une très intéressante et belle note d'accompagnement
Good evening for you

Great shot, Brano. Mostar is very high on my list of places to visit and your wonderful composition only adds to my desire. Your POV is wonderful: it allows us to see the mountains, the meandering blue river, the gorgeous architecture, the classic bridge, and even the jutting spires of the minarets in the distance. Indeed, you have captured all the elements of this place that give it the fantastic mystique and beauty we dream of. Great framing and light. Increasing the sharpness could benefit the image, but that is a minor point that hardly detracts from the overall splendidness of your work. Well done.
