Photographer’s Note
Normally the river is dividing people, but this small short river was connecting people from a huge area. It was and still it is a place where people get together for swimming, playing sports, falling in love. Great recreation area was built around these two rivers with a huge swimming pool, soccer fields, basketball courts, etc. I’ve spent thousands of days on this river, during the summer you do not go to Bunica only if you are very sick or someone has died.
The river Bunica is a left tributary of well known river Buna. It starts at place called Parila between two villages; Hodbina and Malo Polje and slowly meanders through the fields for about 4-5 miles before its junction with river Buna. I already posted some photos of this river, my older photo Hodbina – Staklenici actually shows the bottom portions of this river and river Buna (green lines of trees).
The water is very clean, still drinkable, very rich in minerals and for centuries know as helpful for some diseases.
This photo was taken from Malo Polje side.
