It has been a while since my last contribution. I have been visiting the Balkans, the places that are dear to me and my family. Mostar is such a place. I revisited it with trepidation, not knowing what to find after the senseless war. The heart is still beating strongly in this beautiful, yet tragic place. the river still dazzles us with its colour, the new old bridge reminds us that beauty will triumph over ignorance. And the mountains remind those willing to listen, that the ego is a dangerous thing. I am posting this particular shot as it catches the magic of Mostar at a time when the light is fading. I took this shot without a tripod so I am quite pleased with the result.

I had long admired the Mostar Bridge for its grace, beauty and age, and was devastated when the news came in about its destruction by long distance shelling. I am grateful to see the restored bridge in your excellent photo. The composition, light, exposure are all first rate. Regards from Virginia, Bulent

the most photographed bridge in the world ;-)
I like your point of view, this is a really "different" one ... you show us also parts of the town and the hill in the background; together with the evening light: very well done!

Out of at least 50 photos of the bridge in Mostar that look almost the same , this is the best one . And it's also different .

I liked your photos from Bosnia. You choose good angles. What a beautiful Ottoman Architecture built by Hayruddin (student of Mimar Sinan). I cant undertand how and why a human wants to destroy it...

Hi Klaudio, and welcome back to TE! Sky's a bit large and white-ish, but the capture of the bridge, the town, the lights is amazing, considering you had no tripod for this 1/8 shot. Mostar looks so inviting here, yet I am surprised to be able to make out only one human form, on the extreme right. I suppose this is the effect of the autumnal weather setting in. Lovely viewpoint, and incredible sharpness - what a steady hand.

Hi, Klaudio! I've been to this precious town in 1982, before the criminal war. I went to the other side of the original bridge and thought: Here two different worlds melt, produde life together... It was just a dream, now I know. Anyway, the Neretva is the same beautiful river and my heart beats hard seeing this unforgettable place here. "Hvala"! Greetings from Rio! Miguel.

Mislim da znam sta si osjecao dok si bio tamo poslje tolikog vremena. Ovo je mjesto simbol mnogih stvari, jedan od najljepsih gradova za mene. Jako dobra slika, osjecam puno ulozenog srca u tu scenu.

very well captured and very well composed shot of this fabulous place. Good lighting and sharpness, especially when considering that was taken wothout tripod. I'm a big fan of the Balkans, but still missed Mostar, unfortunately. Well done!
Tfs and best wishes.

This is my first view of this location, and I must admit, it looks absolutely beautiful. You captured it at the right moment, with the fading sun. The restaurants on the water look lovely.
You can even see the cross (?) on the top of the mountain. I am very impressed by this place, TFS

This image was featured on the home page today and I'm surprised I haven't commented on it before (my excuse - there are so many lovely shots of Mostar in your portfolio).
Great tribute to this beautiful place with painterly feel and delicate colours. Stari Most looks as if it were made of gold.

Also I like Balkan very, only with the people (I think they are children) I have problems (the senseless war), Zadar is really a beautiful city with a lot of culture.
Your photo without tripod you have done well!
Many greetings and have a nice day
